Okay, since my internet security program that came with my laptop expired, I finally bought a new anti-virus/internet security software (bitdefender) and was so happy when I received it. After installing it and doing a full system scan of all my files, there were almost 540 infected files!! No wonder my computer kept having all these issues that I couldn't seem to figure out.

BUT... now it seems like everything runs so slow! It took me twice as long to work on a LO today, which was like the whole day. I'm thinking I need to re-configure it and modify some of its features to keep it from interfering with other programs. Does anyone or has anyone dealt with this before? I'm also wondering what anti-virus software you use if any and if you are happy with it... Thanks girls!

I use Mcafee, it comes with Comcast. I like it. But sometimes I wonder if it does anything, It has NEVER found anything....

AVG is what my computer guy recommends, and I have it on all of our computers. We also have Microsoft defender for spyware. I have the paid version of AVG on my laptop, the free one on my PC, and they work great.

The bonus is, it doesn't hog memory while it runs in the background like Norton and others can.

Add me to the list of AVG users!! I do like it, though I'll admit to using it solely on the basis that it's free. If I had the $$ I'd buy Trend Micro's anti-virus in a heartbeat. For me, it was just that tiny bit better than AVG.
