Traci Reed

Hmmm. I used to always use them... didn't know there was a trick though. :) You heat them up and put them in. :) Is your hair not holding the curl? You can spray your hair before you roll it. And leave it in for a little while.

I think I have too much hair, the rollers aren't staying in!

My hair is super long and I still roll mine, it holds curl alot better if it's just slightly damp and I mist a little hair spray in it before rolling. I let them stay in for at least 30 to 45 minutes. I do not brush it afterwards either, just a pick or your fingers to shake it out some :) have fun on your date

I use them all the time. Roll the hair nice and tight, then stick the long end of the pin on the underneath side of the roll, not on top of the roll. That should hold it. It won't feel great...but your hair will look real cute ;)

Traci, I was going to say, your hair looks very thick, you would need to use very small pieces to wrap around the rollers. And roll them close together so that one roller holds the other. KWIM?

Traci Reed
10-25-2008, 05:14 PM
Ok they're in...kinda hahahaha! thanks for the tips! all I really want them for is the lift from my roots so hopefully that'll help!

Styling spray! My hair is too fine for these things, but that semi-worked (as opposed to not working at all LOL)

I use them occassionally. They can turn out really pretty. Just be warned--with thick hair, they give you a LOT of body. Just letting you know!

Traci Reed
10-25-2008, 05:34 PM
yeah I plan on flat ironing the ends again, i just want lift in the roots, lol!

I so want to see a pic of blue-faced Traci in hot rollers!!! :D
I've used them before, and I do like them, my hair just doesn't hold style very well. I do want to try those long skinny ones that give you spirals!

I have tried to use them in the past but my hair is so darn thick it gets all tangled and just becomes a big ole mess. I found using a curling iron worked better for me when I curl my hair that is. I have so much body in my hair that most of the time I just wash, brush and go.

Well I'm sorry to disappoint with the blue face and hot rollers, but here's the poodle effect, which P actually likes so I guess I'm going with it LOL

Traci- you look gorgeous with your hair like that!! Hey, what did you think of Fireproof?? I just went to see it tonight and absolutely LOVED it!! I cried almost throughout the whole movie LOL! Dh and I were meant to watch this movie tonight. Our dd is spending the night with the grandparents and we had a date night too!! We went to a restaurant and they told us it would be an hour wait so we thought we wouldn't be able to see the movie. We only waited 15 minutes and our buzzer thingy went off. It was a mistake, but they seated us anyway and we were able to go see the movie!!

I hope you and dh had a wonderful evening!!!

oh man, I hate those things. There are never enough of them to do all my hair at once time. I ended up having to do sections at a time... by the time I would finish the right side, the left would be limp.

ya. it's kind of hard to describe typing out, but you just pull small bits out vertically away from the head, start closest to the scalp and wrap one loop around one side of the hot iron (make any sense??), then you just pull the iron down over the hair. when you get to the end do a quick spirally twist and you'll have a perfect curl. it words perfectly with my chi! sorry if these instructions made no sense. :D

ooo...lookie. i found a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ca3k1syt2G4

lizzy, this is why you rock! So of course I had to run in the bathroom, plug in the iron and give it a shot... OMG, so easy! lol, and way faster than my curling iron or curlers! I was like, oh, one more try, one more curl... :D half my head is curled now!
