View Full Version : Have your handwriting made into a font....

One of the things I always missed when I first started digi-scrapping was having my handwriting on my pages. I'm a big journaler, and wanted to be able to have my words in my writing. Now you can, too!

Whether yours is sloppy, petite or a mix of cursive/print, we can create a font that reflects your writing!

The process is simple. You'll need a sharpie marker, some paper, and a scanner able to scan 300dpi in color. That's it! If you have any particular questions, please ask here or email me at djbfontography at gmail dot com.

darcy...what kind of sharpie? a fine point?

Darcy Baldwin
10-30-2008, 11:50 AM
Depends on the final product you want. If you want a thick font, do a sharpie or a fine point. If you prefer less thick (almost pen like), use an ultra fine.

Mandy

I used the fine end of a Zig writer.

you'll have to play around with the settings on your machine. They're all different. Check photo quality.

Darcy- I might so ahead and get mine but my writing is a mix of print and cursive so I'm not sure how to work that out?

Mandy
10-30-2008, 01:42 PM
It's only pretty cuz Darcy did it and because it took me like 30 mins to write the dang thing out.

You can always jot down a line or two, scan it, and email it to me to djbfontography at gmail dot com. Most folks get to use a print font for this. It's rare that it's ever connected up enough to have to go to a cursive ;)

And Mandy's is available in the store (https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/shoppe/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=78&products_id=3217)

My handwriting looks like a guy's handwriting, but I still love my handwriting font! I use it on every single layout :) Haha..but it's much worse in person, because I write unevenly!

Do you like this on plain white paper or is lined ok? I've always wondered, lol.

Graph paper actually works best, but notebook paper and computer paper are great. No colored paper, light blue lines only - and not one that's been printed off the internet.

I had mine done about 6 months ago, and it was one of the best scrapping investments I've made. I use it more often than any other supply in my stash.

Oh good, I'm not the only one LOL. Almost one year later, still haven't sent it! :D

Well, first I bough the sharpie, and start to use it.... of course that was not new, so I bough another... a couple of months later I bough the graph paper, then I didn't found the sharpie... I try once... and didn't like it... try it twice, and say to myself I have to think about my extra characters... then I lost the page... then I forgot... finally I bough more sharpies, and didn't remember where I put the block of graph paper... now I also don't know where my sharpies are... and the graph paper is still MIA .... LOL

:blink:LMAO, because this is pretty much exactly how it went for me. :D Okay, so I know where the Sharpies are right now, but I have no idea what I did with the graph paper, and I never remember to buy more when I'm shopping.
