True Mommy Confession #1: My children (ages 6.5 and 3) have never seen the real beginning of Finding Nemo where Nemo's mom dies.
((when cam was two, that scene would totally freak him out so we just skipped it. Cut to almost five years later, and he still doesn't know why Nemo doesn't have a mommy))

True Mommy Confession #2: I ate the "good candy" from my boys' halloween candy buckets, leaving them the crappy candy (which they like) like suckers, tootsie rolls, and Smarties. They never noticed.

i wish i had known what the beginning of Nemo was before I tried to watch it with DS. I freaked in the beginning and thus scarred Henry for life. To this day he hates Disney and movies.

LOL When Faith first saw the beginning of Nemo we got through the scene and I was staring at her all wide eyed like "Oh dear God, are you okay child?" and she says "Hmm, that sucks" Funny and bothersome all in one... my sweet sweet, detached little babe.

Alright my turn...

1) I consider pizza rolls and carrot sticks to be a balanced supper... well, occasionally anyways.

2) I enjoy listening to them argue... they say the funniest things then.

I love threads like this! :)

Confession no. 1: My kids have had popcorn for dinner the past 3 Sunday nights while we watched a movie.

Confession no. 2: I let DS have the last several swallows of my coffee most mornings because he loves it!

I let my kids have cereal for dinner as long as they have an fruit on the side.
And they crack me up when they fight.

Now for mine.
1. I actually do have a favorite child, it just changes from one minute to the next.
2. I wish my kids didn't make the team so I wouldn't have to go to the games.

OK......

1. I have let my 2 oldest kids stay home from school for NO reason!!!

2. DS2 has seen many PG-13 and even 1 or 2 rated R movies (he is 11) as long as I have seen it and I think he can handle it.

3. I actually enjoy watching the twins beat the crap out of each other ( on occasion of course  as long as it does not get too nasty !!!)

4. I let them have whatever they want for dinner when DH is traveling.

Yesterday my kids became involved in a game where each was at one end of the hall with a wall of wooden blocks & they would take turns throwing extra blocks at the other person's 'wall' to knock it down. You could see at a glance someone was going to get a block upside the head sooner or later but since they were occupied and I was getting a nice break from constant 'mom i need, mom I want, mom come see' all I said was "Don't throw those blocks too hard."

I don't think there are any green vegetables in the house at the moment except for half a bag of frozen spinach.

*lol*

My latest is when Tyler says he needs to sit at the table for dinner FIRST, get the corn FIRST, get the meat FIRST, etc. and Jeff doesn't say anything, I say, 'You're right because you are the most special amazing person ever who's better than everyone else!!' in a very sing-song sarcastic tone that goes right over his head, but makes me feel better.

Similarly, when he pointed at the porkchops last night and said he HAD to have that one & to 'make sure LeeAndra doesn't eat it, Daddy' as he was leaving the table for the bathroom, I said, 'Oh my gosh! No, I'd NEVER want to eat that one! It's the WORST one on the plate!'

Take that, Kid Not Of My Loins. :p

LMAO LeeAndra!! We are truly women separated at birth. I'm convinced of it.

Cuz I would totally do the same thing. Except I wouldn't be sarcastic. I'd tell him tough ish, I'm eating the green beans first and he better learn to share.

My kdis are gonna hate me. :p

Great thread!

Confession #1: None of my children have ever sat on Santa's lap... They are the shy type and I never saw the need to force them

Confession #2: I hardly ever let my kids each ice cream ones, because they are ridiculously messy! They only get those when they are with my mom!

my kids eat Ramen noodles on a regular basis too. but they love 'em, and its easy for me so we all win, lol.

1) my kids watch way too much tv. but, it entertains them so i can a)get houswork done or b)scrap! during the warmer months, they are outside alot, so i don't feel too bad. and its somewhat educational (noggin, nick jr) okay, and a lot of spongebog lol!

2)we also eat a lot of grilled cheese sandwiches. but again, we all love them so is this bad? i think not. add some tomato soup and you're good to go! in fact, i may go get some cheese and make this today for lunch.....

LOL ... so glad I am not alone ...

I get rid of toys when they are not at home. When they ask about them I can honestly say "I don't know" ... could be anywhere in the city garbage dump/charity/etc. ;)

Fun thread! (and LOL @ "kid not of my loins")

Here's a couple from me...

1) Sometimes I pretend to understand bugga's jibberish just so she will move on from repeating whatever gobbley-gook phrase I can't decipher for the life of me.

2) There are days when I'm so relieved and happy it's bedtime for bugga so I can have a break from mommydom.

3) Bugga has never tasted juice (barring that one time about a year ago when in desperation I tried to get her to drink diluted prune juice to help the bowels...needless to say, it didn't go over well).

Lol, I big fat heart this thread.

#1 I hate doing laundry, so sometimes my toddler stays in his jams all day long.
#2 My infant sometimes falls asleep out of boredom because I have to answer just "one more email".

This is a great thread!

#1: My 5-yr. old just had jello for the very first time the other day. I don't know how he's been on this earth for 5 years and never had it, but it's true. And I'm pretty sure that means my 3 1/2 year old has never had it either.

#2: I never allow my kids to have caffeine, but it's for totally selfish reasons. I want them to nap and sleep when I need them to and not be wild and crazy. So when we eat out, they get to choose btwn Sprite, lemonade (if available), milk or water. This is all while I order Diet Coke everywhere we go. :)

#3: I cannot wait to have this baby (due in 2 months) and to start nursing. Yes, I want to meet my sweet baby girl, and yes I want to bond with her during nursing, but another big motivation is that I just really, really want my body back. (And nursing gets it back for me pretty quickly.)

My true mommy confessions:

I always take all the "good candy" from Halloween and Easter and eat it myself. I justify it by saying all that chocolate is bad for them.

I like to listen to a lot of music. And so many songs have foul language in them that I substitute the word "fish" for swear words. It's kind of funny actually.

Sometimes we all stay in our jammies because I am so occupied scrapping and stuff. But I say it was a fun jammie day :) instead of the fact that I was too darn lazy to dress anyone.

I don't make them eat at the dinner table.

When my kids misbehave I threaten them with:

"bad things are going to happen."

I like that it leaves all the possibilities open & they never know exactly what I am going to do if they don't behave.
Maybe I won't buy them the promised candy bar when we leave the store
maybe I'll take away whatever item they are misbehaving with
maybe I'll put it out of reach for awhile
maybe I'll throw it in the trash
maybe they won't get dessert
maybe they will go on time out
maybe they won't get to watch tv or play wii
maybe they will get their ear pinched
maybe they will get spanked
maybe I'll wait for the natural consequences to happen
maybe I won't do a thing....
because waiting around in dread for what is going happen is 'bad thing' too

#1: i hide chips and crackers in my house for fear of crumbs on my floor.

#2: i have made my kids eat the above named items over a trash can for
fear of the above mentioned.
