So tell me...what are some random things you are allergic to, if you have allergies?
I'm allergic to the basic things like smoke and dust...but then add to the list:
cranberries
apple juice (I can eat apples, but apple juice gives me hives)
pine/spruce needles (I discovered this one working at a flower shop, during the x-mas season I had this weird rash all over my arms and it spread to my neck and face, I couldn't figure it out...but it would go away at night and come back at work the next day - I literally had to stop doing flower arrangements because we used pine/spruce as greens)
I can't think of any others. I know I'm allergic to really random things, though, lol...

I'm allergic to almost nothing. Every few springs something weird blows through and get bad allergies, but it's not EVERY season, so it's weird.

Acrylic
I'm sure there's more but that's all I can remember right now haha

the real cranberry juice or the fake stuff? my mom has this theory about our (she is allergic as well) cherry allergy that she can eat it if it's been cooked/boiled/whatever.. I'm not taking the risk.. but maybe it's the same with you with cranberries? they're in the same family of allergies I think. some aspect of them gets killed (LOL well not killed) in the cooking process..

Besides dust and smoke like you, I'm allergic to fresh pineapple and pineapple juice. My mouth gets this painful feeling like its full of canker sores at the first bite of fresh pineapple. If I continue eating it, my mouth will be full of sores... ouch!!
And yeah, its even the first bite. As much as I love it, I have to stay away from it... which is hard when DH has 1 in the house at ALL times. Sighhhhhhhhhh.

Mine are relatively random too.
I'm allergic to cinnamon. I can eat minute amounts, but no Cinnabons for me. My throat and tongue swell up. I love cinnamon too, boooooo!!
I'm allergic to soap. I can use body washes that don't contain whatever is in the bar soaps that give me hives.
I'm also allergic to aspirin, acetaminophen, codeine, and percocet.
I'm also allergic to something that's in cigarette smoke. There's simply no way to know what though since there are nearly 4000 different chemicals in that smoke.
Another random allergy, this one from Devin: Aloe. It's a common allergy in Andrew's family. His mom, aunt, grandma, and a couple of cousins are all allergic to aloe. They're also all allergic to Sulfa drugs, just like Devin. D's the first male in the history of the family with these allergies!

I'm only allergic to the "normal" stuff like cats, pollen, molds, etc. But my sister developed a TON of totally random allergies in college. While she was in Greece doing a semester overseas, she became allergic to....
pumpkin
broccoli
raw celery (if its cooked, she's fine)
walnuts
theres a few more, but I can't remember them. Totally random though and didn't start until she was almost 20.

Vicoden and some sort of anestigia (no clue what it was) both make me very ill if I have them. But other than that I don't think I'm allergic to anything.
After reading this thread, I'm very happy!

My allergies are fairly mild, but I am allergic to anything scented (perfumes, candles, soaps) pine / spruce needles (and I have actually decorated a tree wearing surgical gloves) and the usual hayfever type allergies (canola is the worst!) and oranges, I can eat them, I just devolop a rash if it gets on my skin.

HOLY COW! I can't believe there are two others of you out there. I kid, but I have never met someone else as allergic to peaches as I am!
I'm also allergic to most pitted fruits (not just peaches, but also plums, nectarines...), cats, milk, wheat.

I'm allergic to several drugs -erythromyacin & it's varients and some other family of drugs that isn't penicillin but is what they always want to give me when penicillin doesn't work. can't recall the name but I know it when I hear it. (i know that is bad, I should know the name)
I am allergic to most of the natural world - pollen from most trees, mold, dust, every weed that grows in our yard, many flowering plants and pine.
I am allergic to a bunch of chemicals in fragrances & scented products. Not all of them though. I have to smell them to be sure. For instance the Lavendar scented Febreeze is fine but the lavendar scented Downy is not
I was allergic to raw tomatoes for my entire childhood, so was DH but we both grew out of it. I am also allergic to something in the duck noodle soup at our local thai restuarant but I haven't been able to narrow it down.

Amoxicillin?! Really?! That's like the most common antiobiotic out there, lol! Dang.
I am also allergic to something in Sunlight laundry detergent, and something in ABC laundry detergent (I think that's the brand name - they might not make it anymore, I'm not sure). So I've stuck with Tide, lol...I know I'm not allergic to it.

Call me naive but I would have never guess some of those allergies!! I mean....peaches, cherries and raw celery!?!?! That just seems so weird and just plain wrong!!! :D I feel bad for all you peeps!!! :(
I supposedly am allergic to penicillin, since my mom says she is and swore up one wall and down another that I was too. But I have never ever had it so who knows. None of my other brothers or sister is and none of my kids are so...who knows!! Amoxicillin does give G-man instant fire water...but supposedly that doesn't not indicate allergy !?!

I am allergic to ragweed pollen and dust mites. I am also allergice to whatever it is they use to make things taste like cinnamon. Most people are allergic to cinnamon, but I am allergic to fake cinnamon, LOL!!
I am to be tested for other allergies as well, but haven't traveled down that road yet. I am not looking forward to having welts all over my arms and back.

I am very allergic to dust (primarily wood dust) and dust mites (when I had my "scratch" test, my arm blew up from those two so badly they had to test some of the others again). Also cats (but not dogs) and birch trees (but not birch beer, lol).
I also have a bad, but non-allergic, reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen and other related analgesics (except acetaminophen), and caffeine (and yes this includes chocolate :( ). So don't get me within a mile of Excedrin. Those all put my stomach in pain or agony depending on how much I've had...
Funny story, when my DH and I were engaged and living together, he did not believe that I was truly allergic to dust (he's not allergic to anything), he thought I was just lazy about housework. We got into an argument about it and he started dusting the fan blades in anger. Next thing he knows, I'm sneezing, wheezing, itching, tearing, and my eyes are red and puffy. He felt so bad about it. From that point on, he does the dusting when he knows I'm going to be out of the house for a while and also warns me.

OH also allergic to Tide laundry soap. really severe rashes from it.
Codeine-- makes me hyperactive (so not true allergy) but if I have any meds with codeine in it Hydrocodone, oxycodone etc, I need a sleeping pill along with it or I cant sleep.
Latex-- dermatitis
Molasses-- short of breath
and Cat dander but only if it gets in my eyes. I own a cat but I just cant touch my eyes after petting him.

I'm allergic to the general things...
cats (even touching the dang freezer--she lives in teh garage) will cause me to break out in hives
but the one that makes my hubby crazy is lettuce and celery I break out in a rash all around my mouth when I eat certain types of lettuce or more than a plate full :)
They even tested 2x's to make sure...cuz those are odd ones.
youngest dd has inherited my allergy problems, those hers for now are the usual culprits, molds, grasses, weeds, trees etc.
