I saw this on a couple other boards (a couple cake ones... and on cake wrecks). Its just so awful. I was going to post it here, but was worried it would turn ugly like the other posts did... lets hope that doesn't happen here!
Hmmm... this was a super short article. I read one that was really long. I just got angry and wondered how these people can believe what they believe. Their home is full of swastikas, which they say represent love and peace (which in Tibet they do, but not in Nazi Germany!!), they say that the Holocaust never happened, they say that they just wanted their kids to have unique names (this article doesn't mention their other daughter Honszlynn Hinler - they named her after Heinrich Himmler who was one of Hitler's top men- head of the SS and oversaw some of the concentration camps), and the fact they "can't" work because he has asthma & she has a bad back :glare:

Obviously they have no concerns for how their children will be treated in the future with names like those. GOOD GRIEF!

Does anything ever turn ugly here? we're all respectful of one another's views.
Besides, no matter how you slice it, even if you are Nazis like those parents, we can all agree that naming your children "Adolph Hitler" and "Arayann Nation" is bordering on child abuse and for that reason, it's wrong.

I editted my above post to mention that they have a 3rd child who is named Honszlynn Hinler... named after Heinrich Himmler. She wasn't mentioned in that particular article, but had been in the other articles I'd read.

If they weren't trying to get attention for their beliefs, they'd have just had a cake made with "Adolph" written on it, nothing else. I agree that it's child abuse, not just the names and the negative connotations associated with them, but the fact that they are raised in such a racist manner. I feel for them, because they did not choose this life, yet, they are being raised as Nazis, because their parents make them so. It is awful. :(

I don't even KNOW what to say...wow. Those poor, poor children. I just read a little more indepth article and the parents are either really clueless about what the problem is or are pleading ignorance. I kinda expect it's the latter.

Wow, completely ridiculous!!! We were foster parents for a little boy whose name was, well almost satanic and his sisters had names almost like this families. Just so sad that people can do that to innocent children.

I had the "pleasure" of meeting an African American guy whose mother had given him the middle name "Crackakilla". :glare: People are so dumb.

That is just so sad for those poor kids! And because their parents are idiots they have to deal with it!
I think the cake shop has every right to refuse service to them (I don't know their laws but here in America at least I know they have that right). Just like if someone wanted me to make a cake saying Che Guevara rules I'd tell them to take a hike and find somebody else. Those names are much worse, but anyway, you get what I"m saying. What a bunch of nuts to name their children after mass murderers.

they had this on the news here...and you know what...they will be in the news again when their kids start public school and get beat up over their names...and they will be protesting. Give me a break.

oh wow how bad, those poor kids!! how could someone name his kids like that!!!
:cursing::cursing: here in germany there are often jurisdictional decisions about names, and they don't allow such names! although I'm not sure about adolf hitler, because in germany this would be a "normal" first name: adolf and hitler is the "surname" ....

My dh told me about this. I think we should have to get names approved here in the US, too, just to prevent things like this.

I really am glad we have the freedom here in the US to name our children the way we want. My gut says these kids will change their names when they are older....I hope they do.

...or they will grow up like their parents...toughened by their surroundings??? I hope not...

I don't care as much about the names, the kids can't help that, but the the manner in which they are being raised really bothers me. Again, they can't help that, and that will have more of an effect on who they become than what their names are.

Me too Lena! I can't imagine what these kids will have to deal with having names like this. I feel sorry for them. And kinda wanna smack the parents upside the head.

Wow! How do I say this...? I hope they have good evidence so they can keep those kids away from the parents. (I'm thinking of the Texas CPS and the FLDS debacle).
