My yard is covered in branches...and more are falling all the time, outside sounds like a war zone with popping and cracking...you can literally hear them falling all over the neighborhood.
These are all pretty close to the house, I was still in my house slippers and didn't want to go trekking out into the yard for fear that one would fall on my head.

I hope it warms up enough soon to melt it away before the snow that is on its way in the next few days.

Awesome shots Shannon! My parents house got hit with that big ice storm last week. Did some serious damage to the trees in the neighborhood but luckily no one was hurt and no homes were damaged.
I hope it warms up some to melt that ice away before you get a ton more snow. That gets dangerous!

It is beautiful...especially when the sun makes it sparkle. My mom has lots of trees broken in her yard that will have to be taken down. I feel fortunate not to have received that much ice, even though I am only an hour away from some of the hardest hit places here.

well i hope you don't have any really big trees close to your house. oye! growing up in springfield, mo i know all about ice. as pretty and cool as it looks it's not worth all the damage it does, that's for sure. i hope you, your family and your house stay safe.

Wow! Ice is so beautiful, but I know it's also really scary and dangerous. I hate ice storms! We don't get them often here, but when we do, it's no fun!

WOW!! That is so beautiful!!!!
Stay safe and warm.
Those shots are beautiful. I bet it is so pretty at your house right now! As pretty as it is I hope you don't have any branches fall on the house or anything like that. It remind me of the ice storm we had in 2000. No power for a week, total chaos. The "pretty" wore off after a couple days with no heat. Hoping that's not the case for you Shannon!

Oh wow Shannon! I know its so scary and dangerous, but its so beautiful at the same time! Stay safe (and warm).
And Jennifer, I remember the Quebec ice storm! I'm in Saskatchewan, so I wasn't there, but I remember watching it on the news every night for like 2 weeks... so many people without heat & power... it was a scary time!

Man-I went out driving last night to take the boys different places and my town is a MESS...Trees down EVERYWHERE, entire blocks of folks without power...My parents had to go stay in a hotel. I felt really bad that we didn't have room here at our house for them...but my sister is home from Indy and we just don't have the room for two other families in our house...
We are supposed to get record cold temps tonight...so no help for meltage...I'm worried.

I will take the snow in Northern Maine any day over that ice!!! course, right now we have ice under the snow, but anyway...

That is exactly what it looked like around here from last Thursday until about Monday. What caused us and millions to be without power actually! I am glad to hear you all have power Shannon! Those are great photos! I can't believe I didn't get any of our ice storm!
