I am trying to help my friend, but she uses PSE 4. How does she fix it so that she doesn't get the palatte at the bottom and to set it where she can open everything in the workspace?

She cant really get rid of the photobin but she can click the arrow to hide it and then she can go to Window > Images > Tile to see multiple files in the main workspace but thats kinda annoying to me. I actually love the photobin but hopefully this is what you guys are looking for?
