I am fairly new to the digital world, even though I have lurked for a few years, and was wondering what the difference between Scrap 4 Hire products and Commercial Use products are? When is it OK to use either of them.

Thanks,
Kim

Hey Kim,

I think of S4H friendly as being products meant for the scrapping consumer to use to create custom creations for profit.

I think of commercial use items as being products meant for the the designing consumer to use to create digital kits and products made for the scrapping consumer.

HTH!

S4H= a scrapper uses S4H ok kits to create layouts for someone else and gets paid for it.

CU = usually a resource for digital designers when creating their kits for sale.

What's important though is reading the terms of use to make sure the product can really be used for what you're wanting to do. ;)

S4H is your personal use kits, etc that you may use for personal projects and layouts for other people. you may not actually share the product itself, but you can make layouts with your stuff for other people and be paid for those services.

CU stuff is commercial use. meaning when you buy it you may use it to create actual scrapping product for people to buy from you.

HTH!! :)

Scrap 4 Hire/Scrap 4 Other use is when you're hired to create items for individuals - like pages, cards, etc.

Commercial use CAN include S4H/S4O (I think it actually does encompass it) but also allows designers to use those designs for their own (with restrictions, usually) and for using the designs for things OTHER than scrapbook related items (for example, advertising posters).
