at the end of every month here, we pow wow and decide what theme to go with for the next month. Funny thing is, Tab and I do the same thing every month about the scent of the house LOL! On the 1st of the month, since that is payday, we go to the store and stock up on jar candles and tarts to scent the house with. This month the living room was Santa's Cookies and Gingerbread, the bedroom was Citrus Sage and Apricot and the kitchen was rainfall.
We have so much fun picking up different combinations and trying new things (orange+cranberry WASN'T as great as it sounded).
Since we burn all the candles every day, by the end of the month our jar candles are empty, the tarts are worn out and it's time to pick a new theme. We've already gotten an almond biscotti for January and we have to decide what else to add.
Does anyone else rotate their scents like this?

That sounds like a great way to mix scents and try new combos. I might have to try that.
On a side note...a little birdie told me that coming 2009 you might just start getting a point for those themed avies....but you didn't hear that from me :P

LOL! I forget to burn my candles so I still have candles from three Christmases ago! I need to use them up! But I love to put the simmering oil in my potpourri crockpot with water and switch scents that way. I fill it up with water in the morning and at dinner and then its good for the whole day!
I need to find a new scent, but those are more limited than the candles and I can't do anything floral or like "Ocean Water" type scents. Its all food for me!

i don't do this cause my jar candles usually go a bit longer than that since i'm not home to burn them all day.
sounds fun though!! you two are a riot!

Nope- not from you little birdie... but that would be a great idea for slow scrappers like me. :)
I need to do that with scents... my house just plain smells like some "unreal" scent (I think it's clean linen or warm breeze or something).

I should really do it but DH doesn't like a lot of scents. I usually burn Gold Canyon Candles which last forever. My faves are Cinnamon Vanilla, Cinnamon, Ginger Lime and Fresh Linen.
I do have some PartyLite tarts in Vanilla and Pumpkin Spice that I need to use up too...
