date with your SO.. or a special one you remember whatever.. I don't care. I want to hear first date stories.

I've never been on a real date :glare: I would like someone to actually ask me on a date, and go through the effort of woo'ing me.

My parents first date was a friggin stones concert..... my dad knew what he was doing.

The first time I went out with my dh we went to see Castaway and then drove around and looked at Christmas lights. Since it was close to Christmas he brought me a bath and body works gift set (Juniper Breeze scent). He wanted to go get something to eat, but I didn't want to, don't remember why.

That's a hard one for me to answer... Jaime and I were close friends for 3 years before we ever concidered dating. We hung out together all the time. I guess our 1st official date he took me to the Space Needle for dinner, but it was so awkward for us cuz it felt forced. It was another 9 months or so before we actually started "seeing" each other exclusively. THEN, we were engaged 2 months after that. lol

I vaguely remember it being a trip to the mud hole or something like that. We were complete redneck kids back then. Other dates included sand dune jumping, country concerts, going to the local country bar to dance and sitting around bonfires drinking. Good times!!

i was the one that called him and asked him out. i had to go pick him up. he lived with his mom, but only because he was getting ready to go to basic training so he moved back in with her temporarily. anyway, we went and saw a movie, "The Faculty". that one about the high school kids that were trying to fight some aliens that were taking over the school, kinda like body snatchers, lol. then we went back to his house. before we had left for the movie i remember his mom saying that they wouldnt be there so we could come back and hang out. like saying "come on back and make out; we won't be here" lmao! which, we did.:o it was my first kiss. :o at the age of 20 . i remember he kept trying to put his hand up my shirt, and i kept pushing it away, lol. he was moving so fast! i eventually had to leave cause things were getting out of hand, lol. :p we hung out everyday after i got off work. and ended up 'doing the deed' a few days later :o it was my first real relationship, and i was making up for lost time lmao!!

Do you really wanna know? It was breaking into and playing in the McDonald's play ground ball pit in the middle of the night.

We never went on a "real" date until after we were married :p

Kinda like what Laura said. We really transitioned from friends into married couple (lol) so I'm not sure what would be considered our first real "date".

George Strait concert. Like Tracy though, there were a lot of mud runs and bonfires and the bar. :D

My first real date with my DH was in high school, he was a senior and I was a sophomore. We doubled with another couple to a movie then went 'cruising' around town. When he dropped me off at my parents house we had our first kiss.........I saw stars. That was 1983. We got engaged 2 months later. We're still together except for a brief time apart, even then we were together almost everyday :).

He dressed up in a tux and ushered at my wedding to first husband...lmao
I wish I was kidding. But Andy was in my first wedding and we have spent most of our time together since. He was my first child's godfather. My second child is named after him (middle name) We used to jump off the bridge together. But when I got divorced he started getting me coffee while I waited for the bus. And then we had many trips to the mall. And there was a sand pit we would hang out at and watch the stars. But the first date??? can't really say. We just did everything together for so long it all blends.

Well...I'm a bold girl. I hit on him, I gave him my number first, I called him for the first date...I've always been like that though.

We just went to Applebees and had some dinner and some beers and then watched Ace Ventura at his apartment. We were inseperable after that so I don't know if they were dates or if we were just together?

We do date nights now though. Twice a month.

Our first date was the regular old dinner/movie but my favorite date from when we were first together was when we'd been seeing each other a couple of weeks and we drove down to New Orleans and spent the day. I'm pretty sure that's the day we both knew it was going to turn into something serious. We had so much fun together.

My DH had our first date at a college Sadie Hawkins dance. I made dinner, we went to the dance and then came back with some friends and watched Little Shop of Horrors. This was March 1988 and in April 1988, we were engaged.

my first real date with Des ... 10 years ago, Christmas Eve. He flew into town to visit with his parents, I had just sent Cody off for Christmas with his father, and was 8.5 months pregnant with Jenna. He came and picked me up at my Mom's house, helped me unload boxes into my new place and set up the crib for when Jenna would arrive, and then took me out for dinner to Denny's. lol So romantic, I know.

These are some of the sweetest, funniest stories!
OK, my DH & I went on our first actual real date to an Atlanta Braves / Boston Red Sox game. I forgot sunscreen & wore shorts. My legs were COOKED. The Sox won. I bought DH a Boston ballcap (he's from Boston) that he still has & wears. We were determined to leave our relationship as friends because he had already gotten orders to move 1000 miles away. Bit that didn't happen. That was May 2002. We've been together ever since!!

We dated online, so dating was tricky  Our first date was just dinner and out to a club to go dancing. My favorite was the first time I went to see him and he planned a whole weekend, dinners, dog racing - Astros game then his favorite wings place. It was wonderful to be spoiled like that.

The first date, i was supposed to meet him at the movies to see Road to El Dorado. well i got to the movies and waited for an HOUR. He didn't show... i went home so upset bec thought he stood me up, only to go home and find a msg on the ans machine from him saying his ride to the movies cancelled on him (had no car). That what i get for leaving early and not catching the msg in time lol.

Then the next weekend or something like that, we went and saw Keeping the Faith. he still has that on tape. i clearly remember him not watching the movie and kept looking at me lol.

Looking at the letters 2 months prior to the first date, he asked me to go to basketball game, then a dance(didn't go) but I didn't get the hint since i only looked at him as a friend, bec know him since 3rd grade. Until a friend of ours said something among the lines of "hey, he's trying to ask you out"

After that, We was together for 4 yrs, then took a break for 4 yrs and now we just recently started seeing each other again

We had a picnic (food made by him and his roomie, who we doubled with) and went bowling!!! Then we dropped by the Institute dance for the last few songs and danced. Tyrel had just come home from a 2 year church mission and wasn't allowed to touch girls that whole time.... so when we danced and his hand was waaaaaaaaaaaay up between my shoulder blades instead of the small of my back, I kinda giggled. :) We hung out every night after that!!!

Patrick helped me move a desk

I was living in my first apartment by myself and he lived across the way in another apartment. One day, my desk collapsed and it was a heavy bugger so I was trying to get it down the stairs into the dumpster and he came to my rescue. We then spent the whole day talking on the stairs, then went to the mall and walked around then out to dinner. He moved in less than 2 weeks later

my first date with Tom was suppose to be going on a short hike up by a waterfall (Multnomah Falls), however it started raining so we ditched that plan. Instead we went to a Saturday Market and looked at the stuff, then walked around downtown Portland popping into different shops. It was just a good time to talk and get to know each other better. After that, he took me to dinner at the seafood place (and LOL, I don't eat seafood). I didn't let him kiss me goodnight either, 'cuz I'm hard to get. :p It wasn't the best date ever, but I'm glad I said yes to a second date.

I met my husband at Walmart! He asked me out and we drove to the beach the next evening and walked and talked. It was nice! The following day we went to Applebees for dinner and he dropped the bomb on me...he was leaving for Peru in a week! (he is in the military) He left his car with me since my car broke down a few days before he left. What man leaves his car with a woman he has only known for a week?? I knew he was the one!

We corresponded all of the time while he was in Peru, we really got to know each other by letters and phone calls. Four months later when he returned, we moved in together and have been together ever since! Next month is our 10 year wedding anniversary and we have been together for 12 years!

We met in college and had a class together. We had some "spark" there but neither of us acted upon it.... Fast forward to 3 years later, he turns up as the new jr high social studies teacher. He was coaching @ the JR and one of the teachers I worked with was coaching with him. The teacher friend kept bugging both of us to ask each other out, since he thought we were meant for each other. It took my 5 times to dial his number, but I asked him out! We went for a movie and dinner. The movie was "look who's talking".. interesting first date with the little spermy swimming on the screen LOL

Oh Lauren, this is hard. LOL!

Well for starters Sean and I were in Japan, so you didn't really go on Traditional dates there.

We worked together, sat side by side at work for 12 hours a day.

One night him and his friend called my friend, I got on the phone for some reason and Sean made fun of my Southern Accent. I went over to their dorms, he was in the Navy and I was in the Air Force.

They were drinking and decided they wanted to go sledding at 3am, so I drove them. That was the first and only time I've ever been sleding. It was fun, he was drunk like I said and after we all had breakfast he forgot my number. I ran into him downtown and one of the bars and we hung out together all night.

I think we watched movies on our first date where he actually asked me out.

I think the first movie we say together was Castaway and I'm sure we went to dinner some where.

well the first time I went out with my husband it was him, me, one of my good friends and his cousin. I had no idea he liked me at the time because I had just met him. Apparently he had seen me before when he was at his cousins house. So anyhow we went out to play some pool. It was fun but I wasn't really interested because well he looked a whole lot older then he was and I was only 15 at the time. So we played pool then he took us all home and I didnt see him again for a few days. The next time I saw him he actually asked me out and he was really nice and funny and I liked him as a person (still not interested romatically though LOL) so I said yes. He took me to see a movie and he let ME pick so that was not something I was used to. We saw Silence of the Lambs. I know great first date movie huh? So then we went to get something to eat and because it was kinda late and we didnt have much choice in the area we were in we got Burger King. Yep that was our first real date...Burger King and a movie :-) Well anyhow I obviously got interested romatically because that was 18 years ago and we are still together and very much in love. I dont think there was really a day after that first date that we were not together though so it was pretty obvious it was meant to be.

Jeff and I met our sophomore year in college. Our first date was a movie, The Mechanic, with Charles Bronson and Jan Michael Vincent. No doubt we probably went to one of the local college hangouts afterwords for pizza, lol.
We clicked right away. Six weeks later, he asked me to marry him, but both sets of parents had a slight fit, lol. So we were unofficially engaged for 3 years, he gave me a ring in '76 and it was 2 years .before we married, lol. Been together 30 years now.

Our first date was dinner at TGIFriday's (which is now my kids' favorite restaurant!), then we went bar hopping. I drank about twice as much as he did and held it quite well. I think he was impressed!

He didn't even kiss me until our 3rd date - an ASU football game. I came home and said "I'm going to marry that man." And I did...4 years later. We've been together 22 years.

Hubs and I had been friends through other mutual friends for a few years, and he had been crushing on me for a while (totally unbeknownst to me)... he had asked me to do a few things, some of which I did, some of which I turned him down on, but it was not clear to all parties that we were dating. LOL! So he asked me to go downtown (Seattle) and do a historical tour. I said sure, to which he responded "And this is an official date!" Can't get much clearer than that!

Well we actually met in Freshman health class, interesting I know. Then we actually talked when we had 1st period together sophmore year. I think he asked me out about a dozen times, persistant I know lol, and I turned him down everytime lol. Then we didn't have any classes together Junior year but I seen him every day as he was leaving and I was going to my last class. Then Senior year we kissed at the first football game of the season and everything just clicked I guess. Then we hung out every day he/I weren't working, and then a week after the kiss, he picked me up after school and we hung out at his house (where I met his mom for the first time, didn't tell me until we were half way to his house lol) and he goes "I guess I should pop the question then huh?" I'm thinking what the heck?! lol. He asked me out, I said yes and we went to get dinner at burger king I think (he was working there so gotta love free food lol) and then went out to a football game lol. then were engaged 7 months later (and also got pregnant then as well lol) and have been together about 5 years and married four next month.

My first date with my hubby was suppose to be us going to a Penguin hockey game. about 10 minutes before he was to pick me up, he called. He was on call and had to make a run for a local funeral home to pick up a body in Ohio. I asked if I could go along and he said yes.

I left a note for my Mom and Dad that I was going with Ken to Ohio to pick up some-body (and yes, "some" was at the end of the line and "body" was on the next line LOL)

We drove to Ohio (from Pittsburgh) to Kent State to pick up a body to bring back to a local funeral home. We even stopped at a McDonalds along the turnpike and I asked "Mike" (that was his name) in the back if he wanted anything. I made the first move that night by holding hubby's hand on the drive back.

Hehehe....morbid eh? LOL

Dave asked for my number(we met on a city bus!), but I told him to give me his, just in case he turned out to be creepy LOL. I waited 3 days to call, and then asked him if he wanted to have drinks a little pub by my house (I was 21 and living with a few roommates). I remember being totally nervous because it was my first "real" date. The pub ended up having band that night, so it was too loud to really talk, so we ended up sitting at a local pizza place for hours talking about everything under the sun! He ended up moving back home (20 hrs away from me) about 5 months later, 6 months after that I moved away from my family and friends to be with him, and here we are 4 years and 2 kids later!

My first date with my DH was to a huge car show in Kamloops BC called Hot Night in the City. It was so fun! The city blocks off a huge portion of the trendiest streets, and has live entertainment, good food & lots of awesome cars... he took me and paid for everything and was super sweet all night :).

A mutual friend introduced us at her wedding. I was a bridesmaid and he was doing the video for her. I think we met up at her house and then went on a double date to the movies. It's all kind of a blur because we were together like every day from the first date. We just hit it off immediately, and I wasn't one to believe in love at first sight. We've been together almost 10 yrs, married almost 8 so I guess it was :)

Our first date was abt 22 hours long! *lol* We went to church, Arby's for lunch, hung out at my apt, made some kind of dinner (I don't remember what) and watched 'The Holiday' in my living room. He spent the night (ooooh!) since he lived 2 1/2 hours away, but nothing happened.

One of my favorite dates with him, though, was prolly our 3rd or 4th and we drove down to the lake (abt 45 mins from my place) where he and his family had a house when he was growing up & ate a picnic lunch I had prepared. It was April & I still had my convertible, so the weather was perfect and so was the company.

I don't have a clue what our first "date" was, lol. We hung out at a bar one weekend, a week later I went to his place to watch MNF. We stayed up until like 4am talking, and we were constantly together after that. I almost broke his heart in the beginning when I told him I wanted to take it really slow (had recently ended a serious relationship and didn't want to jump into things too fast). Luckily, he saw through me and knew we were meant to be. I moved in with him 8 months after that first night of football, and he proposed a few months shy of our 2 year anniversary.

My first real date with my DH was in 2002, because we spent the whole 2001 chatting on mIRC. In Feb'02 we went to the movies (Vanilla Sky), ate pretzels and kissed a lot. lol. We got engaged 5 months after that :)
