Hey ladies-
For those of you using FTP programs...which one do you use? :)
I've used SmartFTP for the past few years on my personal site (for my blog and other stuff), but it's not free anymore...so I'm trying to avoid the extra $30 hit right now if possible. If it's really the best, I'll go for it, but wanted to ask your opinion first!
Thanks in advance for your input!

So in using Windows....does that just mean you upload via your server provider's website (like mine is labeled "FileManager" through PowWeb)? :) Sorry if that's a ridiculous question!

I use Firefox FTP and it works great! I used to do Filezilla and hated the constant updates, then went to windows, but prefer Firefox above them all - and it's a free add-on!

Filezilla for me too -- but I prefer the old version so I never do updates on it.

No, it's really all done through Windows Explorer. Just drag and drop... No websites, nothing to download/install... I think I wrote up instructions one time. let me see if I can find them. La may have instructions, too, as she's the one who told me about it.

So since Shawna was suuuuuuuper awesome (and proved to be an excellent lil miss troubleshooter) I can finally upload without the use of an ftp program. Smart FTP finally dieeeeed on me the other day and I was in a mini panic since I had never figured out how to upload through windows using 'the shawna method' LOL.
No need to buy a program girlies!
Start: Open any folder on your desktop
Now if you use Vista this may already be there, but for those still in XP land it is not.. so Go to view->toolbars->address bar... and also uncheck lock the toolbars while you're in there.
Now you should have a lil address box. Grab the side of it (LOL) and drag it across so that you have the input area.
type in your ftp info
say you want to upload to your server
type ftp.teresaiskindacool.com
a window will pop up.. enter your username and your password
if you have individual usernames instead of just the master it's a lil different & would be like
ftp.teresa@teresaiskindacool.com
and presto you are in your folder. Go back to your desktop or whatever and just drag and drop your files directly into this window. you'll know it's working because there will be a lil dialogue saying copying files 10 minutes remaining or whatever.
Hooray for not needing to spend mula :)
(and huge special thanks to miss shawna :) )
I edited it a lil lol

I think I've exceeded the number of times I can download it. :) It won't give me free trials anymore...

Filezilla - until I saw this nifty lil' tutorial.
For Vista users: Just type in your FTP in the address bar, no need to view anything or change toolbars.
