I joked with my dh we should get one for his wheel-chair bound grandma and he gave me the evil eye and said "No way". I still think it would be usefull, but I guess piling blankets and sweaters on her *is* less creepy. ;)

LOL! i guess now isn't the time to admit that I'd actually like to have one? I get SO cold, and I'd love to have it for reading or when I'm working on the laptop on the couch. Yes, I KNOW I could get a blanket (or as lizzy says put a robe on backwards). LOL! Still, I wouldn't mind having one.

Just get a real robe, you don't even have to wear it backwards! LOL! My robe is SUPER warm and I'm ALWAYS cold in my house.

LOL Rochelle. My almost-seven-year-old wanted one for X-mas. I refused. I just kept saying, "cover up with a BLANKET for Pete's sake!!!"

My grandpa got one for Christmas from my grandma and he was like, "WTH?? Why can't I just wear my robe backwards?" And my poor grandma was so proud of her gift!

Dang it! The Slanket won't ship until Jan. 15th. By that time it is almost spring in Texas.

I'm actually making 2 for my kids today. They are obsessed with the things. I got 3 yards of fleece for $15 at JoAnne's yesterday& the pattern is rediculously easy (though I did manage to make the arm holes too big). had I been able to find kids fleece robes for less than $30 each I would have bough them.

The snuggie is better than a blanket because it keeps your arms & shoulders warm while you are typing on your laptop. I have a buge men's fleece robe I wear, personally.

I got a Snuggie for Xmas lol!! I would never ever have bought one for myself but my FIL (who is now retired and has WAY too much time on his hands to order things from infomercials LMAO) bought one for me, my SIL, my BIL's girlfriend, my DH's grandma and one for both him & my MIL!! I've only used it a few times so far but it is really warm, the sleeves are huge though so most times I just use it like a blanket and don't put my arms in it. And Kyle already broke the metal clip off my reading light so it no longer attaches to my books

Haha I know but the sleeves are just way too big for my short arms! It's a pain trying to read a book with all that extra material in the way! But you're right it was a gift - I get a Snuggie and my DH gets a really nice KU Jayhawks leather coat  :glare:

My cousin ordered my daughters ones for Christmas but they still haven't come. My younger daughter says she wants. I wouldn't have ordered them myself but I do want the book light that comes with them :)

LOL!!! isn't it just a backwards robe?

My 6 year old, Hannah, kept asking us for a Snuggie. My husband kept telling her to go put her robe on backwards, she already owned a Snuggie and just didn't know it. Talk about one confused 6 year old!

I'm going to make my own and I'm going to make it out of Hello Kitty fleece.

Then we'll see who's hot!

I may be dreaming...but I think that in one of the "extended" commercials for it, they talked about wearing it out for dinner in a cold restaurant.

DW always says that she feels like they are going to jump up and start singing gospel music.

BTW, here's a thought: how do you keep your back from getting cold? Maybe I should wear TWO!!!!

I love in the commercial how they show the whole weirdo family at some game wearing them and the little girl is SWIMMING in it because it's way too big.

And by the way... I totally feel like they're all going to call up Satan to impregnate Mia Farrow.

Ha! I found the picture of my grandpa with his snuggie. Look how happy my grandma looks--and he's totally unimpressed.

Ok a few years ago my DH saw the slanket adds and those puppies where 50 bucks. SO I found this pattern

http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/patterns/sewingpatterns.pl?patternid=13604

and made him one with clearnce fleece for 15. I was able to use nice thick fleece. And as silly as they sound they are soo nice to have. I am going to make one for me :D

here is a pic - he was very happy (and um yes the clearance fleece was king kong. LOL )

Oh dear.....I was thinking I wanted one until now. Now I see I will be an outcast. :p

However, I don't have a robe to wear backwards, so it could be a good investment LOL
