or am I the only person who has ever locked herself out of her house

(which DH knew I would do one day and when I called him he told he where he hid a key LOL)

That's really cute Mimi!

I would totally forget which rock was the right rock though :p

I would too. LOL

I lock myself out of my car frequently. It's annoying.

We had something like that when I younger except you hid the key inside the actual rock. I remember we had a babysitter manage to lock us all out of the house and she was totally panicking until we told her about the rock. :D

My luck, I would never get it back into the soil!

We have a lock box on the back of the house with keys in it...but I can't remember the combo. LMAO. This past summer we got a keypad deadbolt on the back door and I LOVE it. I can lock the doors when out walking with the girls and not have to remember my keys.

I like the idea of a hide-a-key in case anyone gets locked out, but I think something like this is a safer idea... http://www.instructables.com/files/deriv/FXY/RTAS/FEG405G3/FXYRTASFEG405G3.MEDIUM.jpg

you just attach it somewhere like on a post or on the side of the garage. Then, if anyone gets locked out, its a simple code to get the key. This way, someone can't just "stumble" upon the key to your house. They can't get it out w/o the code.

Our house came with a rock with a key inside. We never lock the house ever so I'm not sure why I left it out there for 3 years, but... when we went on vacation we locked up and gave our neighbors the key. Dh left his keys in the house. So we got home from our vacation at 1:30 am and no key. Then I remembered the rock. Dh was like "you'll never find that rock at this hour as dark as it is." Oh yes I will, mister! I know my garden! :)

(yes we are very security conscious people that never lock our house and leave a key in the garden for the previous owners should they ever feel the need to break back in. lol)
