EHD question

I got an EHD for Christmas :thumbup: and I came up with some questions. I was about to transfer all my pictures and kits onto it and then got to wondering how you organize it? I plan to use mine right now for back up... so everything on lappy and EHD.

My pictures are organized by year and with in the year by month, so thats not an issue when I want to add more.

The kits are what I am confused by. When you buy new kits, do you put them on the EHD when you unzip them? Or do you wait until you have a few kits to put on? Do you use yours as back up or as your main hard drive? I have a lappy so I dont want it connected all the time. I dont know if my questions are even making sense... I am so confused :blink:

It all depends Kim. I have a 250 gb HD on my laptop, as well as 2 EHD's. My 250GB EHD is on whenever my laptop is on. The 500GB EHD is turned on once a month for a backup of everything.

Kits are extracted to my HD and 1st EHD into a folder called "New Stuff". Everything new for the month, CT and non-CT, stays in the folder until I turn on the 2nd EHD to back up once a month. That way I know what need to be backed up to it, and it's quick and easy. I drag and drop from the "New Stuff" folder to the appropriate designer folder, and I'm done.
