ugh. I totally know how you feel, but it's the opposite with us. My stepdaughter has no rules for most of the the month and then comes here and has rules. It's a rough start every weekend. :(

Amelia does the same thing, though she is trapped here with no where to run to. She is also 5. Everything is horrible, and she hates me. I just try to let it slide, and especially if Faith gets like that after she gets home from her dad's, it's probably just the transition. Though I'm sure that doesn't make it easier. ((hugs))

That does stink... my 5 year old hated me the other day (and he only has 1 house so he's stuck with "a bad mom and dad")... for that he lost his video games for a week. When I went up to his room to talk to him about it, he had scrawled "KEEP OUT!" on a scrap of paper and put it outside his door. That was my photo for the day... argh!

Yup - we get the 'I'm bored, let's do something really cool and really special" from my THREE year old all the time. ARGH! Like I need to stay up late at night thinking of cool things to do every day? Nope. They have to figure out how to have their own fun.

Keep sticking to your rules. She'll respect you more for that, if it doesn't come accross now.

We usually have one (or three!) breakdown a weekend when FI's 6yo son is here with us. He likes to say, 'I can do whatever I want!' and 'No!' when he's told to go to timeout. I don't know that he's ever been in timeout at his mother's house so it really seems unfair to him that he can't negotiate his way out of timeout/being in trouble like he does most of the time with his mom and maternal grandmother.

My recent 'favorite' is calling FI and me 'a big uhhhh' when he is upset with us.

As always, Faith is an angel today... her room is SPARKLING clean and she brought all of her laundry downstairs to be washed. WITHOUT BEING ASKED!!
