Naomi *ALMOST* just threw up on my laptop. EEEEEK!!!!!! that's scary! She is seeing a GI specialist in march...we've already had a barium swallow that didn't go well...basically something is wrong and we don't know what...she vomits a LOT...anywhere between 1 and 3 x a week, depending. She's on the once a day plan this week because of chest congestion that she keeps coughing up and gagging on, poor thing. And she's just sitting next to me and nearly gives my computer a bath.

*shudders*

I'm going to have nightmares tonight

What do they expect is going on? I'm assuming some sort of upper GI problem. Poor girl. That can't be fun.

Awww, I hope you can figure out what's wrong wtih her. I suffered something similar for about 2 year before I finally went to a GI. I take a med daily to deal with. I hope it's nothing like that!

it's *probably* reflux. She was diagnosed with GERD as an infant and with the doctor's supervision she went off of Zantac at a few months old when we thought she had outgrown it. We've noticed the consistent vomiting over the last six months and have been seeing docs/ getting referalls and opinions, etc. She's seen an allergist as well.

They put her on Prevacid but the insurance wouldn't cover it...so I didn't pick up the rx. I let them know that and they called in Zantac for her again today, we'll try that until the specialist appt in March.

Poor thing....I know as an adult, that I hate to get "sick" so I can definitely imagine it must not be any fun for her....Hope March gets here fast so you can get some answers and solutions but hope that the Zantac helps give her some relief until then....

my oldest takes Prevacid...we tried changing to something cheaper (it's 100 bucks on my insurance) and she'll do fine for a few weeks then her gastritis acts up again. Now we alternate prilosec and prevacid every couple days so luckily a month of prevacid will last me about 2 and 1/2 months....still it stinks for any kiddo to go thru that

Oh, goodness, that's terrible for her. I hope they can figure out the issue soon and get it fixed for her.

First, I'd slap her with a fish.

Second,

just kidding.

I'd panic. Sheer panic. I don't know if HP covers vomit in my warranty.

Note to self. Find out.

LOL @ Lena's title for this thread - seriously, if my kid had puked on my computer or near me, I am seriously gagging myself trying NOT to throw up.

As a nurse, there are only 2 things that "get" to me - someone puking in front of me and someone trying to cough up a lugey....
