Today we went to a pet expo in the city...it was SO fun!
As soon as we walked in the door there was a big reptile display and they had snakes out for people to pet and hold, and a turtle walking around on the floor. There was award winning cats, and TONS of pets up for adoption from various rescue shelters (I really had no idea that there were so many rescue centers in Edmonton, I just thought there was the SPCA/Humane Society and that's it). They had breeders and different breed societies.
And there was this hilarious booth for a "restaurant" called Doggie Style Diner - they actually have a restaurant in the city, you can bring your pet in and order them food from the menu - it's all made by this family that owns it right there in the restaurant. They had stuff like "liver brownies" and stuff that looked like cinnamon buns (I couldn't read what the sign said), cookies, etc. So fun! We're SO taking Elvis there when we take him in to get groomed! I was also shocked to find out that there are people that make careers of scooping poop, lol...who knew?!
There was a petting zoo in the back and pony rides...so the kids did that (they LOVED the pony ride...the first time they've ever done it)...and there was a camel too in the back that you could get your pic taken with or ride, but we didn't do that.
But the bummer of the whole thing? I didn't take my camera. I didn't think that it would be much more than a bunch of displays to buy ridiculous things for your pets (they did have some of those, but most of it was animals and information). I'm tempted to go back again tomorrow just so I can take pics, lmao!!
