I never thought that writing my A B C's could be so hard! I bought one of Darcy's custom Fonts and I can't for the life of me get it to look normal. I can write sentences just fine but when it come to having to write in ABC order in all caps, I seem to have a complex. And then there is this little symbol ({) I think I've wasted a whole piece of paper on that one!
I do have a question in all of this - For those that have bought the custom font - what pen did you use, fine or ultra fine? Fine seems too chunky and ultra fine seems too thin.
Maybe I am trying too hard...

Doesn't Darcy tell you in the instructions which pen to use? I used a fine one when I had mine made. It is hard to write with them isn't it? lol

It's really a preference for you about which one you like. You can always bold a thin font a little by stroking it 1 or 2 pts or using the character box in PS products, and clicking the bold T. The boldness/lightness of a pen can also be effected by how much pressure you use.
If you're having troubles with a particular letter, do so space writing first, pick up your pen ever so slightly, write a letter that comes before the letter, write t he letter on the paper then continue with it just slightly off the paper to help yourself feel the flow.
Lastly - don't panic!!! We'll make it work!

Definitely don't panic hon! If Darcy could do my font, where she emailed me and said "huh?" (not literally, but you know what I mean), than she can work with anyone :)

When I had mine all written out, I was really skeptical but it really does look my handwriting! Just do it once through without thinking about it and scan it in. It will look a lot better than you think!

I used fine, but that's because I wanted it bolder.

I think I used a whole booklet of graph paper before I was satisfied. I think the other thing that did not help was I hardly ever write anything anymore. So by the time i was done my hand was all cramped up! Can't wait to see it!

I know!!! I am having the same paralysis! I bought it as soon as Darcy offered it and I STILL haven't sent mine in! Like, my caps look fine when written in a word, but I write them differently when I am just writing capital letters one after another. I am hoping to get my sheet over to Darcy this week. I need a slap to get me over this and just do it!!!:p
The pen I will be using...is a Micron pigma 08. The 05 was too fine for me.

I wrote and wrote and REWROTE!!! But I finally got it as close to normal as I could... I too thought "the ABCs should be easy!" :) I used a sharpie fine point and thought it may be too bold, but when I got it back from Darcy, it didn't look too bold at all.
See?

I am in the same boat. I got a custom font for Christmas from my inlaws and I am SO excited about it...but I still haven't sent it in. I keep practicing and it just doesn't look right to me. I need to just do it and scan it and send it!!
Stephanie I love your cursive writing! I would buy it!
