I'm curious who's done their taxes :)

Mine are done. Filed them on Feb. 3rd. Got my State refund yesterday and my federal should be coming on Friday. Of course, they are both spent already. Both will be going toward the down payment on our house.

I have mine done (I claim the house stuff, so mine is the important one, lol). I use turbo-tax online, and upgraded to the deluxe version to help with some chairty stuff. I haven't filed yet though. I tend to go over them 89043890432890432 times before I e-file, lol.
Our return is sa-weeeeeeeeet! LOL! Buying a house is awesome, lol. We're saving 95% of it for now. Since it's bigger than we expected I'm gonna buy the chandeliers we've been wanting for a while from Pottery Barn. The rest will go towards building a deck and a fence. :)

Mine are done but since I owe $9K I'll be waiting until April 15th to file.

We just got some of our banking statements reqquired to complete our return. I'll be befriending turbotax this weekend, lol. It's such a PITB. In WA, we only file Federal returns, so at least it's not as complicated as it could be.

Huggles Pam :( That stinks. Do you have to pay all in one lump sum? We've had to pay out a couple of times, but the amount wasn't nearly as significant.

I started mine.. but like pam, since I owe a bunch I wait till the last second to actually file.

Yep, and I got my refund two weeks ago! LOL

I filed a week ago and got one of my states on Saturday, my federal is due to DD sometime this week. Ours was significantly more than we usually get this year, so I did splurge on the XSI but the rest is going towards paying off our van, so no spending sprees for me...but, it was our only debt so it's worth being debt-free. (outside of my $44,000 student loans....no tax return could put a dent in that, LOL).
we had to file in two states and I've got like 3 city returns to do (boo! hiss!) That gets confusing because we lived in a differenct city than david worked so we have to file in both, one city has to pay another, it gets horribly confusing for an accounting-challenged girl like me. That's my biggest complaint with HRblock is that they don't help with city.

nope, I haven't done mine, but up here in Canada, it's not due for a while yet. Still waiting for all our forms to do them. Those don't have to be sent out to us until the 28th at the latest (I believe).

Mine are done and filed. Already got the state (we have small state taxes and thus I got very little back, but its better than owing), but I think I get the federal on Friday.
Where do you have to do city taxes at? I have never heard of that.

Mine are done for the most part. I worked in one state and live in another last year so I filed the federal return and the return for the state I worked in. We break even with the state that we live in so I'm not in any hurry to file that one just yet. I'm too lazy to print everything out just yet and mail it off!!

Done and submitted. We've received our state refund already. Our federal refund will be deposited on Fridayish. Andrew's spend the state refund already, he bought a new laptop. We've got no concrete plans for the federal refund. We might well just leave it in the bank for now.

We just went and had ours done this morning. Our federal refund should arrive sometime next week - who knows when we'll get our money from CA. Figures the year we actually get a decent state refund is the year the state is broke.

We already have our returns sitting in the bank. I'm trying to keep them there. It'd be nice to actually have a little cushion (we live paycheck to paycheck).
We filed as soon as we could. We were worried about the State (Calif) issuing IOU's. Funny, they were faster than federal this year.

We did ours at HR Block in the end of January, but they guy didnt tell us about the new homeowner credit of $7500! We bought our house last april and a friend asked if we got the credit and we were like.. what credit? lol so we had to go back and get our taxes admended :( grrrr lol. But oh well, now we get $7500 to put on debt :D

There may be hope for us yet then! I was hoping that by filing earlier we might have a chance to actually get our money.

If I had kids or a house so I knew I'd be getting a big refund back, I suppose I would have them already done like y'all, but since I'm just a childless apt dweller, there's no pt.
My refund will be minimal if anything. :p

Ours are already filed and our federal refund should be deposited in our account Friday  We finally got a state refund this year (we've owed the last 2-3 years) but it basically took care of the balance still due from last year so we just got an offset notice which is fine by me, at least it's taken care of!

We haven't done ours yet. DH does them & he's been dealing with pneumonia the last couple weeks & hasn't been in the mood. He might get around to it this weekend. We're only expecting maybe $100 back, possibly even owing $100, so there's no incentive to file early.

We usually always end up paying something in, so we wait until the 11th hour to do ours. I can't remember the last time we actually got money...:glare:

We had ours done earlier this week and now we're just waiting on the refund (all of which is already spent on bills and car repairs, btw)
We always get $ back, but our tax lady said that if I dont file differently this year, we'll end up owing. :(

Ours are done and already sitting in our bank account!!!
Waiting on the refund! Woot! That reminds me that I need to ask dh if I can put away some money for my scrap dealers.

Ugh..we usually have ours done and filed by now but with DH deployed we're going to wait until he's home (on leave). I have all the paperwork we need and he has the know-how lol...I COULD do them myself..but BLAH..who wants to do that right? lol
I can't wait though b/c we get a pretty chunky return every year and this year we have TWO child credits and TWO dependants lol I'm pretty anxious to see what we get back.

still waiting for a few W2s from IRAs, etc. I am ready to file other than that!
Yeppers. I do them online myself. Ours are simple 1040 so if you can follow the number and the box, you can do it yourself without paying a CPA a small fortune. Depressing result, but at least we didn't have to pay in.

In Canada we have an extra couple months (or maybe just one month - we don't have to file until the end of April). I haven't received all my paperwork yet, but I *have* finished my books for the last year, so once I get the paperwork from my old boss, we should be good to take it in and have it looked at, at least.

But that's the way it should be, Lizzy. It's your money to begin with. Why should the gov't have free use of your money for a whole year without paying you interest?
We haven't done our taxes yet, but we're pretty sure we're withing the break-even range again. DH & I are of the mind that +/- $200 is the right amount to get back/owe. Last year we got a GINormous refund because I was having too much taken out of my check when dh was a full-time student. So we upped my deductions on the W-4, and now I take home quite a bit more because of it.

YES! Did them the very same day I received all our W2's! Since we're poor, we always get a sweeet return. This year we're paying off medical bills from Tyrel's surgery and completely paying off my credit card. It feels so nice to get out of debt.
Our accountant hasn't finished them yet. We normally have to pay due to DH being self-employed, so I'm in no hurry. lol

Just got it done this morning. We depend on it to pay for preschool.
We haven't done ours. We get an automatic extension with hubby being deployed to Iraq. Even with the extension he will probably file them soon -- he keeps asking me for the mortgage info, but I just ignore him cuz it isn't on the top of my priorty list of things to do.
