my laptop is dark!

I woke up this morning, turned on my hp notebook and all I get is a black screen. We called Costco support and they want us to do a system restore.

We hooked up a different monitor to it and now I'm frantically trying to back everything up. I even have a kit that I've downloaded but haven't even opened up yet from last night:(

I'll have to use my dh computer for a while which means I doubt I'll be scrapping for a while. My guess is we'll be sending it back to HP for some more work. Grrr.

I had that happen before on my old laptop...I wish I KNEW how to hook up a different monitor like you did...but no clue...so glad you are able to back everything up.

My problem was the video card was going out and it took them 2 months (not HP) to figure it out.

Would love to know how to hook up a different monitor to a laptop...I'd print that out and put it in my reference book!

On our laptop, we have a port that will fit a monitor cord into it. We plugged it into the lappy just like we would have a regular computer.
