Update #1:
So last night I sent a nasty email with photos to 1800Flowers concerning the situation. I haven't heard anything from them yet on their end though. I'm giving them just a couple days to get back with me.
DH DID just call the florist though and reamed them a new one. He told them it looked horrible, that he would like to know where the designer got her degree from, that he wanted something that looked professional. They were totally kissing butt and apologized and claimed that they were going to exchange her arrangement and make it look more like the photo.
We'll see. I'm anxious to see what we get.
Ok so today is my mom's birthday. I ordered her a bouquet of flowers from 1-800 Flowers.com.
I ordered this:
http://a764.g.akamai.net/f/764/16742/1h/www.1800flowers.com/800f_assets/images/flowers/images/shop/catalog/16405z.jpg
Beautiful right?
I love them. Beautiful, bright, happy daisies in an acrylic pitcher with fake lemon slices. FAKE. This is the description from the website:
Add zest and beauty to a birthday, congratulations, or any special day with our brilliant bouquet of fresh yellow gerbera daisies, yellow and white daisy poms, solidago and more, artistically designed by our select florists in a clear acrylic pitcher. As an added twist, our florists add in faux lemon slices, making the occasion even more memorable! We use only the freshest flowers available, so colors and varieties may vary. Pitcher is food-safe and measures 8.5"H. Arrangement measures approximately 21"H x 14"D.
My mom called me about half an hour ago saying she got them and loves them. She said she cried and yadda yadda. Sweet but I really was anxious to see what they looked like.
These are the photos she took for me to put up on her Facebook.

UGH! I hate them!
She says they're beautiful and she loves them but my mom deserves something special. Not just because she's my mom but she and I have had a really bad relationship for years. She always (even when broker than broke) has dug up enough change to always send each of us something for birthdays or Christmases while I can't have always said the same thing. I just want it to be special.
DH is mad about it, I'm upset about it but she loves it.
Should I throw a fit to 1-800 Flowers or let her enjoy what she got. It just looks to me like they picked em off the side of the road, threw em in a pitcher and sliced up a lemon and tossed in along the way.
What would you do!?!?!
*ETA, I KNOW that it's not going to be the same IRL as in the photo, but OMG - there aren't even filler flowers. I'm not a florist but I have taken floral classes and this IMO, is a total disgrace.

I've gotten and received WAY better bouquets than that from the same place. Obviously it's not going to look exactly like the photo, but that's not even close!! That's a total disgrace and I would be calling them and flipping out.

Yeah, I think you have a right to be mad. They look like they bought one of those bouquets from the grocery store and just shoved them in the vase.

The description is entirely different than what your mom recieved. The pitcher is not a pitcher, its a glass vase. The yellow flowers are supposed to gerbera daisies, and those are NOT gerbera daisys! They were supposed to add fake lemons, not REAL lemons (won't the acid from them do something to the flowers??).
I'd call and raise a ruckus!! If thats what their giving based on their ad, its false advertising and should be addressed!

Geez, I know it's not exactly like the photo, but good grief - that looks like they just threw them in a vase and called it good. I would call and complain.

Call and complain. That is horrible.

First of all, you paid for gerber daisies. Those are obviously not gerber daisies. (It is like ordering a boquet with roses and getting carnations). I would complain without hesitation or appology.
Additionally, that is a stock vase, not the pitcher shown. Not even of similar quality, and yes, the lemons should be fake. That's not what you ordered, and it's not that it doesn't look like the photo, it is that they ripped you off.
Sorry, I have no patience for bad service. Hope you get this worked out :)

Ok, I am NOT defending 1800Flowers, but you do need to keep in mind that every order is sent to a LOCAL florist to fill. It's not coming from some warehouse florist, yk?
But, that said, I would definitely let them know that this florist didn't do anything even remotely close to what was described. That is unacceptable.

Oh I definately know that. I am not expecting a stock photo likeness at all. By far. I know that no florist is going to make it look like the photo, but for God's sake...make an effort. Kwim? The website says that they fully screen each florist that is in their network to ensure that we get the best of the best.

I would definitely call and complain(You mom doesn't even need to know). Send them a picture too since you have it. The 1-800 people have a right to know that one of the local florists that is getting business from them is not keeping up their end of the bargain.

I'd call and complain. Maybe they will refund you part of the money or resend a nicer arrangement out.

I have a feeling they'll refund my money or give me a coupon, neither of which I am interested in. Both of those would assume I'm going to ever spend money there again. I want a new arrangement and I want it done right.

WOW! That is awful! I'm sorry Mandy! And like Ashleigh said you paid for Gerber Daisies and there isn't a single one in that bunch! I'd be all over it!

Ok, I am sorry but that is just ridiculous. Clearly, the local florist didn't have anymore fake lemon slices (or they read the directions incorrectly) and just improvised. I would without a doubt call 1.800.Flowers and explain the problem. They need to know that their local contractor is doing this kind of shoddy work. Also, the description says that the flowers arrive in a food safe pitcher and you didn't even get THAT. Don't give it another thought...call them.

Herm. Yeah, they could've at least tried to divide up the yellow and white flowers... instead of lumping them all together!

In the description, it does say that the flowers may vary, but that's ridiculous. It's not even close to the original. In fact, it looks like someone bought one of those cheap bouquets they sell at the grocery store and threw it in a cheap vase with some mangled lemon slices.

Oh my goodness...you have every right to be furious. I would be. I hope they'll step up and send something completely gorgeous to try and make up for it a bit...let us know what happens.

My mom was a florist for years, I pretty much grew up in a floral shop.
That is terrible!! It looks nothing like the picture...granted its not going to be exact but its not even close! The picture on the site looks stunning! The flowers arent the same flowers either...again though some floral shops dont carry exact flowers but they could have done a better job. The daisies arent the right daisies, theres no solidago, and it looks like they tried to imprivise by putting mums in it. The arrangement doesnt look as full either.
And like someone else said you didnt even get the right vase/pitcher! I would definitely call and complain. Show the picture too. It might not have looked so bad if the flowers were cut shorter.
Definitely call and file a complaint!

I would be so P****d off!!!! Those are so awful! You should definitely complain!!!! :cursing: I'd be demanding my money back AND to have a replacement bouquet of GERBER daisies sent! Terrible! I'm so sorry this happened to you!!!

Based on the picture, I am guessing you paid a decent amount of money, based on the flowers she got, it looks like grocery store bouquet. Its terrible. Nothing like what you paid for. Its not even the right flowers at all! I would complain totally.
Reminds me of when I sent flowers to my parents when I found out I was pregnant to tell them. The card to my dad was signed, 'Jon, Mari & DeeDee due in October'. Nice, huh? Kind of ruined the moment, eh?

Call 1800flowers and tell them whats up. Then, tell them that you want a REPLACEMENT arrangement that actually fits the description. Chances are, they'll be more than happy to "make it right". I've used them before and they've always had great customer service.
btw... I can't see the image of your mom's arrangement here at work, but from what it sounds like, its awful. Just the fact alone that you didn't get gerbera daisys is enough to be pissed off. Those things aren't cheap!!

Don't get me wrong they are pretty but totally not what you paid for and the lemon slices are nasty looking. Those are not right. I'd call and get what you paid for, even if they couldn't fill your order correctly they should've contacted you to see if that was acceptable. :((

I will update as soon as i get more info.
We are still waiting on a call from the actual florist that made the arrangement, and also, I emailed 1800 Flowers and included photos and havent heard anything from them yet either.
