Ok, so for about a month and a half now, I've been having strange dreams! I know this is normal when pregnant...... My best friend who passed away 2 years ago next month is always in them, though. I think I know why.... I've been wanting to name my baby (due July 4th) after her, but I don't know how I can do it....
Her name was also Rachael, even spelled the same way as mine (that's why we became best friends when we were in 4th grade!) I know I couldn't name my baby Rachael (if it is a girl), since I'd be like I was naming my baby after myself.... Well, Rachael's middle name is Margaret-Sue, only we have 2 other relatives with those names, so that'd be weird because I wouldn't want to name my baby after either of them (so people would think), and I don't like the name Sue for a baby girl! :)
I was thinking about (if we are having a girl!) using Margaret-Sue as the middle name, and I really like name Lydia for a first name....
What do you think about Lydia Margaret-Sue? Do you think that sounds good?
I don't know what to do!!!! Help! :)
My son's name is Gunner Anthony (if that matters, so you can see if they sound good together)...
Thanks for your input! :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Lydia. I think your reasoning and your choices sound perfect. I think Lydia Rachael sounds beautiful too, if you go that route, and *you* would know which Rachael she's really named after. :)

I love the name Lydia..not crazy about Margaret-Sue but I know it's special to you...what about a version of Margaret in her memory but still modern and unique in it's own. Gunner is very unique and I think a name to go along with that would be awesome. Some variants are
Maggie, Margo, Mairead (Gaelic), Maisie, even Meg (being a Meg..not sure i'd do that though lol)
Good luck..I know how hard choosing a baby name can be!

I think Lydia Rachael sounds great too. Or what about just Lydia Margaret? Lydia Margaret-Sue is a bit of a mouthful - but it's still really pretty. I'm no help I know :P
I am with you on the dream thing though - I had one not to long ago that we had a boy and named him after a friend of mine that died last month. We'll see if it ends up coming true.

Yeah, Lydia Margaret-Sue is a mouthful! LOL! Lydia Rachael does sound better, but I'd feel weird about it since it's also my name... (My middle name is Lynn, so it'd almost sound like I was trying to reverse it or something!)
I just don't know! :( Why is it so hard?!

I like Maggie, but I don't know how well they'll go together....
I have a friend named Margo, a cat named Maizee, and a friend named Meghan.... :( Otherwise those would be great :)

My first name is Elizabeth and my second DD has that as her middle name....DH gave it to her and she loves that her name is just like mommy's!!! I think using Rachel as a middle name would not be weird and I think as your DD got older and you explained the reasons behind it she will feel so special and so honored!!!
Plus who the heck cares what anyone else thinks....if they don't like what you name her go tell them to have their own baby so they can name it whatever the heck THEY want!!!! :D :D :D

Being the mom of a Lydia Marie, I obviously love the name Lydia! I love when middle names "mean' something, so go with your heart on that one!

Thanks so much ladies!!! I'm starting to lean toward Lydia Rachael. You're right, who cares what other people think.... well, look at men having "Juniors"!!!! They can do it, right?
