And not, as one might think, because of the 47 unusued kits sitting on my hard drive. Certainly not due to lack of fab deals and amazing kits.

Just for the simple reason that MY INTERNET CONNECTION SUCKS ROCKS. And apparently the rocks have gotten lodged up in the connection and are preventing the Internet from reaching my house at a reasonable rate. I mean, if it just took 12 hours to dl a 120 mb file, I could live with that. But it cuts off randomly, it's so slow at times that I can't even download a 20 mb file.

Before I march my husband's butt into the Internet office, somebody troubleshoot a little for me. Is there anything I can do on my end to speed it up? Anything that might be wrong for me that keeps me on the brink of insanity?

Our Internet speed is 1.0 MB, and we use a wireless modem. We have three computers right now, and it's insanely slow on all of them.

Have you tried to reset your cable modem? I know that sometimes when things get gummed up like that, that pressing the reset button on the router helps. If all else fails perhaps call the cable company and see if they can give you a new router. Might be something wrong with it...

Okay, so today I downloaded For Laura from here; it was 127 MB. It downloaded in under an hour. I also tried to dl a kit from WST that is 121 MB, and after two hours, it still has NINETY PERCENT LEFT to download.

Can anyone explain that?

(And I'm not hating on WST; I STILL haven't been able to get the new sp kit downloaded, and then there are stores I can't even shop at because I can never get stuff downloaded. :))

Kellie, I have stores that are like this too, no one else seemingly has problems only me. My DSL is not terribly fast as it is, and with the router, it takes a long time. It usually takes me 1/2 hour to download a "normal" sized kit, sometimes longer.

Those stores that are slow downloading, I just can't shop at anymore, it's not their fault, but I can't sit here for hours and watch it time out every single time either. It sucks.

I wish I lived where I could get the super, duper high speed, but living in hick-town, rural Canada, I feel fortunate to have DSL LOL!

And now...

TWENTY SIX HOURS LATER

I have my dl from wst unzipped.

Crazy stuff, huh?

I'd still appreciate any insights some wise computer person might have for me regarding my Internet connection.
