When you are doing a layout what part of the layout do you really struggle with? What do you usually do to overcome it? (if you have figured out a way that is LOL)

For me I think shadows are kinda tough. I usually just use the same settings because I do not feel like messing with them once I get everything placed. Second would defenitely be titles. Titles are just out of reach alot of times. I usually just do a bit of journaling if I cant find a suitable title. The last would be trying to make the layouts look different because I seem to always just use one photo which ends up towards a corner sometimes in the middle.

For me, it's coming up with fresh ideas. Sometimes, I feel like I'm in a design rut and do the same thing over and over. LOL

The initial design. I can waste more time sitting there trying to figure out how I want to layout the photos. In fact, since we're not going to church (currently have the power shut off to most of the house while we're trying to install a dishwasher gone bad and waiting for DH to return from the DIY store, yet again), I've wasted more time this morning trying to do a layout that I just can't get the photo placement right. (which is why I love templates or sketches or frame clusters...they take that initial work away for me).

I LOVE shadows...it's my fave part of doing a layout. I think I struggle most with titles. I'm pretty sure I have about 30 LO's with the title "love you" or "my sunshine" or some variation of both. Sometimes I stress about coming up with a fresh composition, I'll stress so much I can't even scrap. If I go into it without an idea I usually do better.

photo placement can be tough. I like templates also but they seem to slow my computer down so much with all the layers so I dont use them that often. (plus as mentioned above I usually only use one photo soooo not as hard to place one photo LOL) If I do use several photos though Ill move them around a million times it seems

finding the time to scrap!!! also starting a layout, I'm a template lover though so that usually helps :)

see for me if I go into it with some sort of idea I do sooo much better. Alot of times I will feel like doing a layout but have no idea where I want to start or what I want to do and just sit with photos and paper and elements open and end up closing it all until some form of inspirtation comes. Sometimes it ends up being totally different then what I had in mind but it always helps to have some ideas to start with.

For every layout it's different. If I'm using a CT kit, than choosing the kit is easy!! Then, I have to know what photos I want to use with it and the design I want to use. Sometimes choosing the photo is really hard because I don't have anything that really goes with that certain kit, so I have to get creative!

I guess everything is hard for me at times. I don't think that any one thing is harder than the other...just different for every layout. Sometimes titles are the easiest part...and other times the hardest!

Other than titles (see my other post lol) probably photo placement...that's why I love to use templates..because it gives me a basic design then I'm free to make it my own. When I design my own pages they do tend to all start looking alike lol.

Titles. But I've overcome it, simply by making sure I put them there. Sometimes they are lame, but I do like most pages better with them.

Journaling! Sometimes I never know quite what to say... so I usually just sum it up in one or two words.... :)

Ive got the opposite problem with journaling. I can go on and on with the journaling and usually have to keep redoing it to fit in the space available LOL. Journaling! Sometimes I never know quite what to say... so I usually just sum it up in one or two words.... :)

Okay well I need you to rub off on my Jessica!! ;) I just feel like I'm not saying it right... so I just sum it up! That's one of the things I'm working on the most.

I have a huge problem using more than one or two photos. I'm like a lot of you and have a really tough time making my layouts look unique. They all have the one photo/clustered effect if I don't use a template.

Gallery envy! I'm a simple scrapper, but after looking at all the beautifully layered LOs in the gallery I always want to add more and spend a long time fussing with stuff before I take most of it off and go back to what I had 2 hours earlier. I need to be better at calling LOs done before I waste that time. The layers are beautiful, but just not how I scrap.

I also have trouble getting started but I get around that with templates and challenges.

I struggle with making my own layout (meaning my own design). I've been on Bree's CT since I started digi scrapping, and depend on them to start my page. If I sit with a blank canvas and try to do my own thing, I will still be sitting there 5 hours later, with nothing more than a photo and a couple papers, STILL playing to make it look right.

I always feel as if there's something missing. I love having lots of layers, and I often feel like I need just one more thing, but I don't know what it is. So in a layout that takes an hour total, half an hour will be spent just dinking around trying to figure out what else I need.

Just getting started at all! I still don't have a style of my own and my paper scrapping is so different from my digi scrapping. I am at odds with myself.... got to get over this, I know!

Choosing a bg paper...it's the last thing I do and one of the hardest for me. Weird, huh?
