Sorry... we watch way too much Imagination Movers over here...

My External HD started making a clicking sound last night... and thankfully I immediately checked with hubby who is a techy guy. Turns out,

Clicking Hard Drive= eminent failure!

Sooo... he plugged my HD into his computer and pulled everything off of it... and I am going to make SURE to keep another backup of all my scrap stuff.

I had not backed up, because my laptop was getting critically low on space, I moved everything to the drive last week to save room. :rolleyes:


Sooo glad I did not lose 100 Gigs of kits, layouts, etc.:thumbup:

So, just a friendly PSA reminder...

BACK UP YOUR STUFF LADIES!!! Make sure you have your stuff in more than one location in case of hard drive failure!!

Yes...speaking from experience...I had my stuff on 2 identical (identical in data not in model/make/manufacturer) ehd and they both died (differently) within a day of each other!

BTW I was told by the company that DID restore my 500 GB of data at a tune of $645... that my copying more than 5GB of data at a time is prob what caused one of the drives to fail!!! I had been copying anywhere from 100 GB to 500 GB from one drive to the other to make them identical drives.

Yeah, EHD failure haunts me in my dreams. I just backed up all of our photos onto DVDs and I have about 20 kits that aren't backed up off of the EHD yet. So, thanks for the reminder! I'm going to do this tomorrow night!

yeah i lost a bunch of stuff off of 2 portable hard drives...i was able to retrieve my pictures but not my layouts...i bought a new ehd to backup to which reminds me i need to backup sometime today...
