Hello all! While I am no newbie to SSD and digi-scrapping in general, I am new to the SSD gallery and community!
So here we go... deep breath... and...
This is me (my mini-novel bio, HeHe!):
I moved just over 6 months ago from S FL (West Palm Beach) to N FL (Gainesville)... hello culture shock! In S FL, I worked for WXEL TV/FM (PBS/NPR) for 8+ years. I was Assoc. Dir. of Creative Services... a "jill of all trades," if you will. My duties included: graphic design for TV mainly, print and web; video editing and animation; copywriting, press releases, etc... oh and basically managing my dept., since my boss was never in the office or if he was, he was sleeping at his desk!!! (Long story for another day!) I digress...
Anyhoo, my family then moved to N FL, as I said, and I am now a S-A-H mom to my beautiful princess (yes, I am totally biased), Paige. And like MickeyD's, I am LOVIN' it! Time with Paige and time to digi-scrap my butt off! HeHe!
I was an original 12x12 paper-scrapper back in the day.... then I got a job, that was the end of that... then I got married... then I had a baby... that was really the end of that and all hope for paper-scrapping!
Ding! Light bulb! The graphic designer in me took hold a few years ago and slapped me in the face (a number of times, mind you)... "What am I doing?!?!?" Duh - do it digital! And I was off... not knowing of the dig-scrap community online, I created everything myself. My first books are not as "realistic scrappy," as they are now that I am in full swing (oh yeah, I am in my prime, baby - LOL!), but they still have lots of meaning!
Unfortunately, when I started digi-scrapping, digital photobooks were not available in 12x12... so I started with the 8.5x11... I have stuck with it to keep conformity in my photobook library. (As you will see in my gallery thus far.) BUT - I think starting with my 2009 book - I may upgrade to the 12x12! I am so jealuous of all the page space in all the fantastic layouts in the gallerys! Plus I LOVE to scrap multi-photo layouts! I have trouble picking one picture per page! I just don't know how you all can pick on picture!!!!
Well... I will wrap up my novel by saying this...
I am already so appreciative of all the wonderful comments on my gallery pages! I really do take it all to heart. Things sure do move fast in here (and I like it)! I have had SO much inspiration from the SSD gallery in the past and I hope to continue getting new flavors to keep my creative juices flowing in the future!
To the Designers, to the SugarBabes, to Everyone...
THANKS for being SO inspiring!
I love it... Keep it coming!
I look forward to future scrap-tastic times (ya - I went there - sorry, I know, I know)! ; )~ Here's to new friends!
