Today has been a rotten day. Avalynne slept in till 9.30 which is GREAT, but when I got her up, she smelled sour. Then she didn't really want to eat breakfast, but I kept feeding her. We played until she was tired, then I put her down for a nap. She wouldn't go to sleep and half hour later she was still fussing, so I went in.

There was BARF everywhere! She was covered, head to toe, her blanket, sheets, everything. Worst part was that she had a few berries at breakfast, so everything was stained purple. The clothes she was wearing are ruined (I scrubbed them with straight Javex 2, and nothing... they are soaking now, but I'm not holding my breath). I had to change the crib sheet, which took an almost Herculean effort.

So she had a bath. Then I put her down for another nap, after I gave her a few cheddar goldfish and some raisins. About an hour later, she's crying, so I go to look. Again, barf everywhere. So I start stripping her down, and here I see she's also had a bottom explosion and that was a mess. Back into the tub, scrub her jammies, and strip the crib AGAIN.

Since then she's pooped again and barfed twice more (I wasn't so lucky... I've now also had a shower & fresh change of clothes).

I can't wait for today to be over.

Well, we're off to the hospital :(. She's not better yet - she's even worse. She can't even hold down the baby tylenol or gripe water. She will throw it up in the matter of seconds. We handed her a cracker and she managed to nibble off a small corner before it came back up. She's been up for less than an hour (from her nap), and has already filled her diaper and thrown up 4 times. She's just limp. I'm really worried about her :(...:crying::crying:

Okay, back from the hospital, where she was limp for most of the time and threw up twice (well heaved anyways, there was nothing to throw up). The doctor checked her all out and said that she *should* be okay, and gave me some pedialite to give her. Which she promptly refused to drink, lol. But he did say that if she's still like this through the night, that I should go back and the nurses will give her a half dose of a Gravol suppository, and IF we do that, then she'll have to go in again tomorrow morning to get checked over by the doctor.

So for now, she's in bed for the night. Let's hope the night goes well and tomorrow is a better day!

Sounds like she has the dreaded stomach bug that is going around. My kids (and I) got nailed BADLY!!! My son processed it fairly quickly (about 24 hours) but my daughter was knocked out. She took about 48 hours to stop vomitting and another 4 days to stop diarrhea. We gave her no fluids until she slowed down on the vomitting. Then, only tiny sips of water every 15 minutes. Literally, a tablespoon at a time. Pedialyte is great, but they hate the taste, so I always mix it with a little white grape juice. (Apple sometimes promotes diarrhea). Let her tummy rest for a bit. If she is still vomitting every 45 minute/hour then she is not ready for anything in her stomch. Once it slows down and there hasn't been a vomit in a couple hours, then try very small amounts of fluid. If she keeps vomitting past 36 hours, I would take her back to the ER to have them give her some IV fluids.

Yes, I sound like a know it all....but I just went through this with my entire family. IT SUCKS!!!! I even got it for 24 hours and it was brutual. Very painful stomach pains this time. UGH. Wash your hands frequently and try to disinfect everything. That vomit is loaded with bugs and you need to make sure you don't get it.

So sorry to hear Ava is unwell Jae - it sure can be scary when they are limp like that and constantly throwing up! Leighton did this to me while the kids and I were interstate without DH! Swore I would never travel alone with them again after that but I suffer from short term memory loss as I've since done it again twice! Leighton had Noro virus (took 2 weeks for the results to come back) a reportable illness that can be fatal - thank goodness I didn't know this at the time as I would have been even more worried!! He was so limp and lifeless at times and all I wanted was DH to be there with me! Thankfully he recovered but it knocked him around for a good couple of weeks - now when I look at photos from around that time he is painfully thin, he's never been a chubby bubby but his face had no roundness to it at all! Hope Ava recovers quickly and that you and your DH don't get it. ((((hugs))))

Thanks for the well wishes ladies! Ava is 100% today, lol! She slept like a rock from 8:30 to 7. She woke up once around 12:30 for a quick bit of whining, but then conked out again. And since 7, she's been running around, happy & laughing. She drank her pedialite no problem today, and DH gave her a small bowl of cereal and a few peices of apple, and she's held it down! I'm SO relieved!
