Another vent

Today seems like it is the day for venting :thumbdown: :thumbdown:....................

Up until a few weeks ago when our break laws changed here in New Zealand I would have had about 4 or 5 paid 10 minute breaks during a 7.5 hour shift, now I get 2 paid 10 min breaks and one unpaid half hour break which if I was doing a normal desk job I wouldn't mind but Saturday nights at Pizza Hut's national call center can be really busy so I enjoyed having more breaks.

Oh that stinks! My old job used to give me 2- 15 min. breaks and a 1/2 hr. break for an 8 hr. shift, then they switched it to only 1- 15 min. break and an unpaid 1/2 for 8 hours. I'd have to work 8 1/2 hrs to get 2- 15 mins. and an unpaid 1/2 hr break, which doesn't make any sense! Gotta love it!

In actual fact I quite enjoyed having the half hour break because I was able to walk down to my local starbucks and grab a coffee to help me get through til 11pm.

I think that's pretty common here in the states for an 8hr shift. My old job was salary..so thankfully didn't have to worry about paid lunch, etc..was normally out by 5pm when I got there by 9 (was no set schedule..just depends on when you had a client or mtg)
