Ever since Nikki posted abt Flo Rida's song on 'AI,' I've been trying to puzzle out, off and on, as to why it is so popular in hip-hop and rap to sing songs abt strippers.
I've never been to a strip club, so correct me if I'm wrong, but you just pay and go in and watch and leave, right? As long as you're 18, you get in, correct? So... what's the fascination? Is it supposed to be some kind of backlash against love songs? Why is it so cool and needs to be sung abt if anyone and everyone can go anytime they want to? Why is something so ordinary the topic of songs by Flo Rida, Ray J, etc etc.?
Someone, explain this to me (if you can). I just don't get it.
If going to a strip club is something these guys do regularly... isn't it kinda like me writing a song abt going to the grocery store?!
'I spin my cart right 'round right 'round
when I go down, when I go down the aisle
They spin my head right 'round right 'round
when I see, when I see sales...'
I'll be contacting Kroger today with my jingle. :p
