Woot!! The Review is in! (Sorry, took me a bit to write this up in between photo processing!! I took over 400 pictures last night. Most are pretty damn good!!)

Seriously---BEST.CONCERT.EVER!!! I mean, it was like three concerts in one--and two of my favorite musicians? Dude, how can you go wrong?!

So after waiting forever to even get into the building, we're sent downstairs to find our seats. The man that took us up front says, "Ooooooooh...you guys can go up to the stage when Rocket Man starts playing. Seriously, this isn't some kind of belated April Fool's Joke--only the first three rows can go." Um, what? SHUT UP!! We had third row seats. SCORE!!

The show started with both Billy & Elton on stage. Please don't ask what song they started with--it's a full on blur right now, lol! But, they each started one of the other's songs, then moved into making it a duet. Freaking awesome. Four songs for that set, then Billy leaves the stage for Elton's solo show.

Now, I've seen Elton John in concert before--just him and his piano, and it was awesome. But Elton John and his band---holy cow!! He did a 10+ song set (Andrew called it The Never Ending Concert--he was really there for Billy Joel I think ;)). My favorite of the night--Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and maybe Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting. Then Rocket Man came on--and Andrew wussed on me and stayed in his seat! Uuuuuuuuuuuuuugh! Whatever--I'm gone. There's a good crowd up at the stage, but it's all good--I was seriously close enough to touch Elton John as he walked across the stage. Elton closed his set with Levon--probably my favorite EJ song ever. Seriously.

Now, as amazing as Elton John was, Billy Joel was a force to be reckoned with!! If he's rocking like this at 60 (Elton announced that Billy's birthday is on Saturday---more on that later), I wish I could have seen him in concert during his younger days!! Holy Shazzbot!! So, Joel opens with Prelude/Angry Young Man. OMG--just that one song made the whole show worth it. Our seats were off to the right side of the stage, so we got a lot of Joel's back throughout the show, but dude, so worth it anyway. (Oh, I'd decided to go sit back in my seat at this point-my legs can only take so much, lol! I did go back up a couple more times for a brief moment or two.) Here's where Billy differed from Elton---he actually interacted with the crowd. Sure, Elton was great--but Billy, omg, what a showman! He was funny, charming, friendly...and his accent made me think of my dad. LOL! I loved that Billy not only introduced all his songs (like when he said, I'm not sure why I named this song this, so Don't Ask Me Why...and then went into the song), he also introduced his much larger band. Very cool, very classy. He THANKED the audience for buying tickets. Just cool.

ANYWAY--Billy rose from the piano and strapped on a guitar for We Didn't Start the Fire--introducing the song by saying, "This next song---it means absolutely nothing." LOL! That song is just beyond the beyond live. WOW!! Right after, he went into a rollicking version of It's Still Rock & Roll to me. Best songs of the set? Prelude/Angry Young Man and We Didn't Start the Fire. Best aspect to his show besides Billy? His piano rotated so that we were able to see his front side at times too. LOL!

It's nearly 10:30 at this point and the arena goes black. We're close enough to see crew scurrying about to set up for the final joint set. Both pianos rise from the depths again, along with Joel and John from their respective staircases. They did Uptown Girl, Bennie & the Jets, The Bitch is Back, Piano Man...and a fab version of Lennon/McCartney's Birthday song. (You say it's your birthday--well, it's my birthday too!) after John mercilessly teased Joel about wanting anything pink for his birthday, a statement which elicited a playful "Shut the F up!" from Joel.

These giants of modern rock music, MUSIC in general, ended the night with the most amazing version of Piano Man. Ever. Seriously. They were both just superb, amazing, awe inspiring. Wow!

Seriously, if anyone has an opportunity to go to this show, do it! I can safely guarantee a good time, no matter where you sit!! It was well worth the money we shelled out for it, and then some!
