I don't know what happened to PS (I use CS3). It was fine 2 days ago, yesterday I couldn't get it to open at all for a long time and then if finally did, but it's taking about 7-8 minutes to open. Doing anything takes forever. It's so strange...idk what to do.

I haven't added anything new to my C drive or done anything differently.

I've run my malware stuff, virus stuff, defragged, and used disc cleanup. Of course I've also restarted 58127658 times.

Anyone have any ideas what could have happend or how to fix it??? I'm losing it.

Have you installed any new fonts?

You also might try deleting the preference file. If you hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (I think?) when you start it up it should prompt you with a box to ask if you want to delete the file.

Not any new fonts really--just 2 this week. I keep most of my fonts in a font program.

Thanks for the pref. tip...I'll try that. :)

If the pref thing doesn't work, then I'd try uninstalling those fonts just to check. Photoshop can be picky about fonts.

I wonder if this is what's causing the black screen when I try to save or open something.... it just started happening like 2 days ago and it's driving me nuts!!! I'll try using this fix this when I get home tonight.

It should, you'd just use Command+Option+Shift instead.
