Okay, I go out this morning to feed my dog and my house is COVERED with these gross worm things!!!! I've been waking up to find some crawling around the baseboards in my living room for a couple of days but seriously..what I saw outside was like something from a horror movie and then I walk around looking at them all over the outside of the house and come to the corner of my gargage next to the garage door and find THIS!!! I sprayed them with insect spray so this clump is dead but GROSS!!! I'm totally freaking out b/c they are everywhere!! I called my mom and she said they're all over her house too!! What the heck are these things!! It stormed bad last night so I don't know if that has something to do with it but where is my husband when I need him to deal with the gross worm things!!!! :cursing:

Okay...apparently they are millipedes

http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/ent/notes/Urban/millipedes.htm

harmless but disgusting and I don't want them on my house! Basically, this article describes their ideal habitat and it's pretty much my yard/house..we live in the middle of the woods..lots of fallen leaves and mulch, moist cool, shaded environment. Such joys living in the country :(

Nikki - since they are soft bodies on the bottom, and they might not like walking on it because it's like little pieces of glass, you can try to get some non-pool diatomaceous earth from your local farm supply and put it around the edges of your house and where they are coming in. (be sure to get the NON POOL variety). It's harmless to humans, they even feed it to dogs and horses to help with fly/flea problems, and helps keep some little crawlies at bay. You'd have to reapply it after a rain, but it could help keep them sort of contained?

Thanks Darcy I'll try that...I swear..I can deal with a lot of stuff..but when it comes to any kind of bug/worm whatever I just about lose it...I keep walking all over my house paranoid that I'm going to see them coming inside! I've vacuumed every nook and cranny...at least it's helping me get rid of dust bunnies too lol
