should i go with a wii fit or wii active when we get our wii. we are getting one within the next 2 weeks and i want something that will help me get in shape. I don't need to loose weight, i just need to tone up things. mainly my legs and tummy. so which one and dont' say both bc i can't afford both...LOL!

EA Sports Active wins without a doubt for me.
You don't need the balance board for it, but you can use it if you have it. It just changes how a few things work.
Wii fit is easy in comparison, and I get really frustrated cos it's just so slow - loads of 'advice' and chattering on in between exercises. EA Active just gets on with it!

ITA - the wii fit has a LOT of downtime in between the exercises (especially in yoga).
But fwiw - my kid REALLY loves to hula... haha

Don't waste your money on a Wii Fit. I wish we could return ours now that we have the EA Active. Its so much better of a workout and way more fun too!

Glad to read this! We have wii fit too but it annoys me because it's so slow. I usually just ended up doing the free step because it's the only thing that made me work up a sweat. :p I'm going to check out the EA Active instead!

i wonder if dh would be really ticked if i went and bought one. it is a cloudy yucky day outside and i am bored and the kids are driving me up the wall...LOL hmmm do i dare?

Mario Kart!! (IMO there is no other game haha)
To start out there's a bit of expense. I'd get Wii Play to get the extra Wiimote. (40 for that game) We like bowling and tennis on that one. You want AT LEAST 2 wiimotes..if not 1 for each person otherwise ev1 will have to take turns
We like Guitar Hero and Rockband too but the noise is kinda irritating sometimes (esp the drums lol)
If you have the $$ now..I'd go lol...it'll give you guys something to do today and honestly the wii is the best family time we have had in a LONG time...we go all out though lol I print off tournament brackets for Mario Kart..i'm slightly obsessed

I heart my EA Active game :) It is great workout, and you can build you own workouts out of the activities it has. I am doing the 30 Challenge and it is kicking my butt.
A great family game is Mario Party.

Ok, so we got a wii fit when we got our wii...and I really liked it...but tonight I did my first workout with EA Active, and let me tell you, it was AWESOME, and it totally totally worked me. Seriously. Go with that.
What everyone is saying is true...Mario Kart is the bomb (make sure to get more than one wheel), and yeah, it's a lot of money to start up, but after you get some games, it evens out...the EA Active is really the first game I have bought in a while. And it really is the best family time we have had in a while.

we are going to get one this weekend. does it matter where you buy it from. we have been doing some research and it looks to be the same price about everywhere.
