I just bought a swimming suit. My first one in probably 8 years...and it's a tankini. Sorta freaking here  I still don't know if I'm going to keep it or not.

I'm playing safe and have ordered both a tankini and a full swim suit today from Land's End (everyone in a previous thread recommended them - thanks for that!) and I am praying one or the other will work miracles and hide the wobble whilst keeping my boobs in check. Swim suits seem to do one job or the other unfortunately...
But I was soooo shocked at the cost though - £35 for the top alone!! Wow!
....still, if it works, and gets me swimming and losing the weight, it will be worth it.

Mine's a tankini too! Totally cute. Bought it at Wal-Mart. We're going to Branson in a few weeks and we're staying at a water park/hotel..figured I'd better have one for that. Why did they not invent those little suckers sooner?

I've got a one-piece and a couple tankini. I've got a long torso and a belly so the tankini doesn't really do much for me, BUT I have worn one (borrowed from my SIL because I'd forgotten my bathing suit) that was long enough and hope to find one of my own soon, lol...I like them better because the straps on one-pieces usually dig into my shoulders.

I'm way too fat for any kind of suit this year! I would look disgusting in a tankini, so kudos to all of you who can wear one!

They're definitely the most flattering type of suit on me. I love them!

I think tankinis are much more flattering than 1 pieces. The one pieces always seems to just stretch across the skin and flatten the good bits into the same size as the bad bits.

It seems I tried a tankini a few times and there is still a bulge that sticks out? Do they cover up your whole tummy?

I'm hoping to snag a tankini for myself this summer. My tummy is just not in any sort of shape to be shown with a regular bikini, lol. I love my legs and butt, but this belly is not for public viewing :p

There is absolutely NO swimsuit that would be flattering on me, because mostly it is my big old fat behind (and those saddle bags on the sides) that need to be covered, and then my nephew asks me why I'm wearing a dress into the ocean. Hmmmm....good question.
That being said...I love tankinis. I love that I can just pull the bottoms off when I have to go the bathroom.
I dub tankinis one of the most amazing inventions EVAH! Nonetheless, I'm a-skeered of all bathing suits this year. I'm just gonna pretend summer isn't almost here.

Mine definitely covers all of my tummy. It shows a little bit of my back but I'm ok with that. I have no back fat down there! :D

um. i never said i looked cute in mine. if you consider a walrus in a thong cute, you may think i look cute in a tankini. if not, my chances for being cute in a swimsuit anytime soon are slim to friggin none. :D:D:D

I do know that Landsend has long torso ones that cover more. I'm long-waisted and I got a tankini from a regular store and my belly stuck out, so I stick with the pricier long torso ones!

DUDE, how on earth are any of you brave enough to buy a swimsuit online? I need to see my bod in that suit before I buy it. I buy racing suits, the lycra in those babies is divine and this year I actually look slim in my suit! Losing 32 pounds really makes a difference!

Yes that's the problem with swimming with kids - you can't just sit on a chair arranged just SO hiding all your flaws - you have to chase down kids bending and stretching everywhere praying you aren't blinding all the people around you.....

Well before we lived here we had a Sears that had lots of swimming suits from LandsEnd at it so I got to try on IRL and then I learned I loved their style/size/etc. Oh and I do the boy shorts too, its just more comfy and more practical.

I bought a 2 piece today but NO ONE will be seeing me in it. It's between me and the pool and the sun. LOL
