Is it worth it to upgrade Photoshop CS3 to CS4? Sound off fools. Don't mind the "Fools" thing... I'm hoping to get the part of Mr. T in an upcoming play.

And by play, I mean TV show.

And by TV show, I mean commercial.

And my commercial... I mean infomercial.

The 3:30AM kind.

For a cat box.

What was I saying??

Oh yeah, upgrade to CS4. I'm downloading the trial now but wanted REAL opinions. :)

Admittedly I haven't had it long and haven't explored "what's new" in depth, but my short answer would be, yes. I'm glad I upgraded. It's just smoother for me. Loads and works much faster than CS3 and previous versions. Things that have always hung up and seemed to take forever on my computer are like, Oh, snap, it's done! My computer is at that lifestage where I really need to upgrade, so this was a huge bonus for me and should help me keep from going totally crazy until I can afford a new computer.

Yo foo...

I upgraded, only 'cuz I upgraded from cs2 so that I could run it on vista. Because I purchased cs3 about a month 'fore cs4 came out I got a free upgrade to cs4!!! woot!!!!

I love cs4. seriously LOVE it. I think you should do it, cause I said so.

I actually liked CS3 better. I don't like the way CS4 handles files that are open in the workspace -- it keeps wanting to stack them on each other. There are a few more quirks about the workspace that I don't like and I haven't seen much improvement in areas that are useful to me.

You should, cuz Samsung says so.

I do too, but Samsung is the shiznit. Listen to her.

Dawn mentioned the file stacking--it can be quite annoying. I'm almost used to it now, but at times I cuss CS4 up one side and down the other for that feature.

i have similar questions - but i'm on cs2 - should i bother upgrading at all? i really love cs2 - i went from ps6 to cs2 a few years ago and the re-learning little quirks and shortcuts was annoying - should i do cs3 or cs4? (dunno, can u even buy cs3 still??)

I upgraded from CS2, and I LOVE CS4. I've never used CS3 though, so I can't give you any comparison between the 2.

The tabs maybe?

The tabs maybe?

Yeah, if you have two windows (files) open and you drag one too close to the other, it automatcially combines them into one window, with tabs at the top to switch between them. I hate it!
