My dh and youngest ds have just drawn me into this show...and I was wondering if anyone else watches Warehouse 13? It's on the SyFy channel. If you're curious...here are the full episodes so far:

Hopefully that link works. Here is the home page:

I find it intriguing...and I've not ever been drawn to the murder...mystery...cop shows (other than CHIPS years back...but they were good looking)...lol ...so I am surprised I find this intriguing...maybe it is the love of the old "Nancy Drew" and "Hardy Boys" type mysteries that appeal to me in this???

What's your thought on this series? It has dh, myself, our 15 and 14yo sons watching each week.

I watch it, that is, dh and I both watch it. They have good story lines and good acting in a fun atmosphere. It's no secret i'm a sci-fi fan and I demand stories and plots that don't insult my intelligence, lol.
I actually don't usually think or even consider why I enjoy a show. I'm just content to know that I do :).

My dad watches it so I think I've seen every episode so far. I'm not really a huge SciFi fan to begin with so for me it's all a little bit too weird. Plus I don't really like the dynamic between the main characters. I don't know, I haven't been terribly impressed so far. I do like Eureka though which I think is on the same channel? It's out there too but I like the characters a whole lot more.

Eureka rocks, Lynette - it's one of those shows that should never have been cancelled :(

I'm with you, too, on Warehouse 13. I love the eccentric character, but I'm not connecting with the two agents at all. But the show has promise. I just miss Stargate LOL

Oh, has Eureka been cancelled? I thought they were showing new episodes right now. I'd never actually seen it before though so it's entirely possible I'm wrong, haha.

Okay - DH just corrected me. Eureka is a SciFi(I hate the new name) original. I thought it was like other shows that have been cancelled and an alternate channel picked them up to save them :)

Oh ok, yeah I think it's an original series. And I hate the new spelling SyFy too - my dad says it looks like a disease you would catch. :D I'd love to know what they're hoping to achieve with the new name.

Did they change the name of the channel...or is it an additional Sci Fi channel that was added and they needed a different name?

So what is Eureka about? I really don't watch much TV...so it takes awhile sometimes for me to pick them up. Especially with Robotics when we aren't home 4 days a week during the seasons...but I can tape it! :)

I enjoy Warehouse 13. I think it has potential. I hope they give it at least an entire season. Love Eureka!

The SyFy change though I really don't like. Their new 'SyFy channel' commercials make me think they are going all Disney-esque trying to attract new viewers. SciFi reeks of geek, but SyFy is fun text speakish so maybe they can add the crucial 15-30 year old female demographic to the male one they already have. "See. we're all Buffy like. Not dark violent technobabblers." As a marketing ploy i thnk it sucks

Yep, Stacey - that's exactly it. I read their announcement a couple of months ago when and it made absolutely no sense. "We want to distance ourselves from people thinking we're all about science fiction". WHAT!?

I didn't know the SyFy thing was permanent. Lame.

We watch Warehouse 13. It's like x-files, isn't it? Except the lead chick bugs the snot out of me. It's like her eyes are always so wide open, and her acting is pretty shoddy at the moment. His acting is natural and fine. The weirdo warehouse dude is okay...but hoping he gets a little better still.

One of my fave scifi shows ever was Start Trek: TNG, and every time I've had to sit through the first season repeats, I think to myself that they are all overacting and trying wayyyy too hard. Everything was so awkward, but things just needed time to gel, and then it was gold.

That is why I am surprised that I like Warehouse 13...I did not like Star Trek, Star Wars, or Lost In Space....but back then we only owned one tv and had limited channels. ...I watched because that was all we had... ...I think it is because of the "detective" like work or something that has me watching...

I do like the lead chick ... I think they made them so different to give a real variance in their "abilities" and she is supposed to play an uptight type of person...I imagine they have plans for that to evolve...ya just never know... I'm trying to think of who HE reminds me of...can't put my finger on it... or maybe he has been in something else and it hasn't clicked in my old "mommy brain"... I'm so bad with names...

So what other shows would be similar in that aspect to Warehouse 13 that I might like... or the Gilmore Girls (gosh I am loving my DVDs!)...

...and what is Eureka about...would I like it?

I think you'd like it. It's basically about a town of super smart people, like scientists, who perform experiments that ultimately go wrong. One of the main characters is the sheriff who basically is tasked with keeping all the craziness under control. Oh and one of the last episodes involved bowling...and green goo. :D

You know me so well :D Will have to see if we can find that particular episode and watch it...ok going to see if I can find it and make sure we watch them! Yay they have past episodes on their website! We're going to veg later today! Thanks!

do you all know if we can record from the video on the website onto a dvd (in the computer)? I've never tried so not sure how to do it.

...or is it possible to hook the laptop up to a regular dvd recorder and record a show from their site? I'd really like to keep the pilot show of Warehouse 13 to watch at other times.

I know I'm getting in on this late, but I've been watching Warehouse 13 too. I like it so far-kinda interesting. But yeah, Miccah, or however it's spelled, does kinda bug me a little. Big wide eyes, kinda staring blankly and confused sometimes...reminds me of a scared deer. But I think the show has potential.

I think she makes a good opposite for the guy...

My mom has her DVR now set to tape Warehouse 13 every week...I have her hooked! She called my brother and said "hey have you ever watched warehouse..." and before she could say it...he said "warehouse 13? yes of course!" lol We both KNEW he would know about it and be watching it. lol ...so it has a following in my family for sure...mom's house, brother's house, and my house ... lol
