Random Question of the Day: Are you a picky eater or do you like everything?
My test for people who like everything is whether they like brussel sprouts or not. I say yuck but my DH loves them and he'll eat almost anything. I guess I'm still kind of a picky eater.
So, what won't you eat? Sardines? snails? Stuffed cabbage?

I'm middle fo the road. There are some things I love to eat, things that I hate, and others that I'll eat if I have to but would prefer not to, lol.

I am a very picky eater. lol
no butter/margarine on anything, no dairy unless it's mozza cheese or ice cream, no seafood ... I like just about every kind of veggie and fruit ... will not eat wild meat (which is BIG around here, and my hubby LOVES).
I would rather go hungry than eat something I don't like.

I am somewhere in the middle too. I like most things, but not spicy food, and not onions unless they are crispy onion rings.
I love brussel sprouts though, always have :)

My mom thinks I'm picky, but most of what I won't eat is because of texture, not flavor. I actually do like brussels sprouts, when roasted with balsamic. What won't I eat?
cake (I can eat brownies and angel food cake--all other cake is nasty to me. I've never liked cake, and my mother has tales to tell about my reactions to it, lol!)
lima beans, peas--anything like them with a skin and mushiness inside
mushrooms
lettuce
bananas
anything spicy--this has improved, I used to not even eat food with black pepper on it, lol!
turkey
reheated pastas
reheated tomato sauces
cold ketchup (we keep two open bottles at all times, one goes in the fridge for Andrew and the boys, the other stays out for me.)
I'm willing to try pretty much anything, within reason.

this is funny because I'm exactly the same!! I can't eat most things because the mix of texture... not necessarily because of flavor. I can't eat things like a salad with walnuts or fruit, or mushrooms. their are many others but you don't want me to name them all! lol I try alot of different things... but if I can't get past the texture I wont move on to the flavor!

I will pretty much eat anything. I  FOOD... ;) Wish I didn't. I probably would lose some weight if I didn't like food so much.
I do draw the line at slimy stuff (snails - which I have tried), raw meats, raw fish, things like that. I won't do the internal organs of an animal either. BLECH.
Other than that, the only real aversion I have is sour cream and milk. If they are cooked into something (in moderation), that's fine but to put sour cream on a potato or drink a glass of milk, BARF!!!! LOL

I put that I like just about everything.. the only exception is any kind of meat. If it used to walk around, I don't want it! lol I love brussel sprouts. :)

I am picky about certain things. For instance:
I have to have Miracle Whip, not the imitation junk for my turkey sandwiches.
I have to have Hellman's mayonnaise when I make my chicken salad.
I will NOT eat Buddig processed crap meat. Don't even try it! LOL
I have to have white albacore tuna in oil. Don't try and give me that crap tuna, I won't eat it.
I can't eat cheap cheese. Yuck!!
Imitation crab is just that - imitation crap. LOL
I won't eat margarine - it has to be real butter.
I usually won't eat anything if it's been reheated.

I will pretty much eat anything - and it shows when I step on the scale! Why couldn't I be a more picky eater??

Oh yea, I am in total agreement on this one!

I love just about every food in most food groups except vegetables. I do love vegetables too, just not a wide variety. Those that I do love, I eat a lot of. I don't do brussel sprouts, asparagus, collard greens, broccoli, cauliflower...However i love pretty much all meat, all dairy, all fruits, all grains...

I read in a scientific journal (a real one, honestly!) that we are genetically predisposed to either like or dislike sprouts - and I guess everything else, but the research was done with respect to sprouts. (again, it was a real research project, promise!).
Personnally I loath sprouts, but DH would eat them everyday if I'd let him - DS mirrors me.
I rated myself middle of the road, but really dislike mushrooms, eggs, and peppers simply disagree with me! Offal and seafood I don't touch either - so maybe I am more picky than I like admit, but I think I'll blame my DNA, rather than say I'm fussy :p

I like most foods . . . except liver . . . my mother tired every which way to make liver, but she could never fool me. I detest the taste AND the texture.

It would be easier for me to list the foods I DO like over the ones I won't eat. I haven't met a pickier eater than me...including kids!

I'll pretty much try anything...except for slimy stuff (snails, oysters, squid, etc. etc.) or raw stuff like sushi. I love food and I'm usually game for anything. I'm not a fan of certain things but they're far and few between.

I'm not a picky eater, but I appreciate quality and freshness. I usually stay away from the processed crap, not only for the taste but also because of the poor nutritionnal value.
I eat escargot, liver, sushis, squid, name it. :p DH is the same. I honestly would have a difficult time if my spouse was a picky eater. We can eat everywhere, and we don't have to worry about the menu.

what's wrong with stuff cabbage? I love that! LOL!
I'm not picky with what's considered normal American food. But I went to a Chinese buffet and the shrimp still had heads on them. GAG! (I like shrimp but not if it's staring at me!) There were other weird things on that buffet that I wouldn't touch.

Amen! Seriously, I'll try anything once and even if I don't like it then, I can probably be persuaded to try it again! :p The only things I cannot stand and never have liked are watermelon and cucumbers.

my list of thing I will not eat is not to long but it does limit alot of what I will eat because they are in alot of things. Here it is: chocolate (plain...I like things like snickers or butterfinger because it is not just plain chocolate), onions of any kind, mushrooms, peppers of any kind, raw tomatoes and chunky tomatoes in sauce like spahetti sauce, broccoli, cauliflour, cabbage, saurkraut, and kind of greens (mustard greens, collard greens etc), liver, lima beans...I think thats it.

I don't say I am a picky eater cause I am always willing to try new things, but yeah, I HATE a lot of foods. Meat, berries, kiwi, dumplings, I could go on and on.
super picky. drives hubby crazy! i would seriously be here all day if i listed all the things i won't eat (and no, i can't be polite and just eat it because it's offered). there are many things from each food group that will never be in my tummy. :p
i have issues with the temp of certain things too. ketchup must be cold or i'll pass. i don't do warm liquids -- soup, stew, hot chocolate, etc. yucky.
um, yeah. i'll stop before you all realize how much of a freak i really am. :p

I'm really not a picky eater. I love food, and the spicier and more flavorful, the better! Some of my faves are Korean, Thai and Indian!
My sister got me a subscription to Taste of Home one year, and I ended up giving all of them away. There was not one recipe that interested me in there, so I guess I don't like typical American casserole type of food. I'll eat it though if someone else made it, but I just won't take the time to make it!
I love Brussel sprouts (like Leila roasted with Balsamic), will only use butter (no margarine at all...won't eat anything that has it on it), I don't care for mayo....but will eat it if it's given to me. I eat all fish...cooked and raw...love all veggies
Ok, one thing I will NOT eat, is pickled pigs ears. They gave my son one in the deli at the Latino market and it almost made me vomit watching him chow down on it!
