I would really like to try and do a t-shirt (similar to the onesies) using digital goodies.

I've never done it before - what do I need?
Will I need a special printer?

What about PS CS3 settings for printing - are they any different?

Thanks!

You can just buy transfers that say they are for inkjet printers... make sure you horizontally flip your image before printing it onto the paper and you'll be all set. :)

That depends on what type of paper you're using. You don't always have to flip the image.

Nothing special needed. Buy the transfer paper, follow the instructions that are included, and you're good to go :)

Little tip for you, don't be like me the first time, if it says to iron it for 1 minute, only do 1 minute! I figured if I went longer it would stick for sure, nope, I just burned the edges. lol

I have done this SO many times... READ the instructions on the paper that you get to avoid wasting papers that you flipped that weren't supposed to be! LOL!

yes follow instructions. and also it depends on what color shirt you want too; they have some for white shirts and also for dark shirts. i made the mistake of using the regular ones on a bright pink shirt. you couldn't see it, lol. i had to do it all over again.

One more tip - make sure you trim close to your image so you can't see the extra plasticy stuff that is what you print the iron-on on to. It will make your final project much prettyier.

Also, you can't iron on to canvas (as in the ones that have wood frames behind) I tried it and it didn't work - don't wast the iron-on - I already did for you!

...and remember to let the ink dry thoroughly on the paper after printing, or it could smudge. Just give it enough time for you to have a quick coffee and get the iron ready at least :)

You can iron onto plain canvas though... I did it on my reusable shopping bags using plain Avery iron-ons for ink-jet.
