ugh...I have costochondritis in my ribs..it flared up big time a few days ago when I reached up into a top cabinet and i hurt so bad for 3 days that I finally went to the doc yesterday and he gave me a decadron shot and put me on oral steroids for 5 days. I am WIRED..seriously last night I think I slept maybe a total of 4 hours..I also had hot flashes like you wouldn't believe and made me totally dread menopause! My side still hurts like crazy but my house is super clean b/c I have so much energy. I hope it settles down though b/c I gotta get some sleep..I was up the 3 nights prior with my side hurting and now this...
anyway, that's my whiney post for the day :)

Yuck, steriods do such crazy things to your body. I hope you can come down off that energy high soon and get some rest, lol.

I was prescribed some like two months ago after a really bad headache episode (three day migraine that I ended up in the ER for) and after reading the possible side effects I chose to not take them. Hope you feel better soon and can get some rest!!

Man, the best I ever felt was when I was on steriods for my asthma attack a couple months ago. I know they're awful for ya... but I loved them. I miss them. But I don't want a hump in my back. :D

Steroid are really an awesome drug. They help so many people get out of health emergencies. But if you are on them long term they can make you completely nuts. My mom was on them a few years ago because she had a really bad colitis flare. She was on a pretty high dose and they made her paranoid and mental and apparently made her purchase the most random things on qvc. She bought a fly swatter that would zap anything you touched. lol She also wrote EVERYTHING down in a journel. Literally everything and wanted me to read her ramblings of the meaning of life. When she came down off them we were all so relieved that she returned to her normal, happy, calm self. Her case was kind of extreme though and part of the reason it was so bad is she forgot to take her antidepressents a few times.
Anyhow, Nikki might want to hide your credit cards :) And I hope you feel better soon!!!!!
