I'm being induced at 5:00 am EST this friday. This will be my 3rd induction and likely my last baby. Both inductions went well and although I'm not against it...I just want to know if anyone has any tricks or advice that might sending me into labor "on my own" or at least not via IV.

My friend swears this works... it worked for her two... Red Lobster Garlic Biscuits and a diet coke... LOL! Of course I've heard of long walks and... ah... romantic time with hubby... also works.
Birthing ball
lots of walking
spicy food
evening primrose oil

i started going on massive walks (well i say massive, but since i was massive it was more like waddling around the block lol) from 37 weeks. It did nothing. At 39 weeks id had it and although it was the last thing i wanted to do, hubby and i had some *quality* time together and i went into labour the next day. So maybe it was a combination of the two? who knows, but id try it again for sure!
Good luck! Those last few weeks are so uncomfortable, i remember it well!

Raspberry leaf tea (not raspberry tea), you can find it in health food stores etc. My midwife suggested this.

i wish i had some advise for you....I only ever went into labor with my first baby. the next four i had to be induced for!!! even this last time i went to 40 weeks and 1 day and my OB stripped my membranes like 4 times and it didn't even give me so much as one little contraction :glare: so i'll just wish you an easy induction, easy labor vibes and a speedy delivery!!! good luck :hugs:

I've got nothing...I tried the spicy food, walking, walking, walking, the "romantic time with DH" (apparently there is oxytocin in the "stuff" haha, which is another form of the pitocin they put in your IV). I've heard castor oil but there was no way I'd touch the stuff, lol.
