View Full Version : SHOE GIRLS! I need help!

I'm WAY late to this party, and I know it's completely out of fashion, but my MIL just sent me a pair of capri cargo pants, and I'm in love. I'm not a girl who cares too much about what's fashionable, and I'll probably be wearing these things as long as they don't fall of my skinny body (when THAT finally happens), but I know that wearing just my trainers with them isn't going to be too hip. So don't tell me to just stop wearing the pants now LOL
We have relatively mild fall/early winters in TX. So, I'll wear them while I can, but I need some shoe recommendations. I know most girls wear sandals of all kinds during the summer, but I need something a little more sturdy because I'm weak-ankled and really accident prone. But..what would be my shoe choices?

I bought a really comfy pair of shoes at WalMart...they're like Mary Janes but sneakers. Totally comfy and they always looked super cute with capris
and of course...I can't find them on line now.

I would totally wear crocs with mine too.
Although, being in the little bit warmer South Texas than your North Texas.....all I wear from Feb - Nov is flip flops. :p

*sigh* jealous of your winters! Of course there are many diehards in Wisconsin that if it's above freezing, it's short/sandal weather!
I don't have any crocs, but any slip on shoe or mule always looks week with capris!

I only own one pair of capris.. and they are tight jeans with gems on the butt :p so.. a lil different haha.. but even still, I wear whatever I wear with regular pants :p I rotate two main pairs of shoes, which are my chucks and my striped ballet flats :p

Any type of flat, slip on shoe would work well too.

I wear my Skechers with capris. There are tons of choices and colors for skechers. I like that they have traction and are fine for walking and standing for long periods of time. I wear them to work all the time.

I was going to post those Julie!
Academy has tons of shoes like that Darcy. I would wear my mary jane crocs, flip flops or some type or mule or slide. I also wear my slip on Skechers sneakers with capris.

Will you come up and help me shoe buy, Amanda? You know I don't have that particular girl gene! LOL
Those are cute, Julie - and something I'd see myself wearing.

How about birkenstocks? My parents live in Houston and my mom wears them year round, with everything. I think crocs would be great too.
Athletic sneakers w/ low socks and capris is certainly not tacky - I see people like that all the time.
This may sound weird, but low, flat, wide shoes - like birks, flip flops, crocs etc. - help me feel grounded and somehow, less fat. When I wear slip ons that make my feet look small, I feel like a whale.

OH! I love those Mary Janes -those are too cute (can you believe I'm saying that?!?!?!?!). I wonder if they have them in brown..we'll have to stop in today on our way home from errands.

I love the sketchers that Julie showed. I have a few pairs of them...so comfy.
Now, I would not be caught dead in crocs, so I can't agree with anyone saying that! They are ..... the ugliest things and I think they are the biggest fashion faux pas EVER!!!!!! (sorry croc girls....)
Flip flops are usually my shoe of choice though!!

Any non-bulky flat shoe should work (I personally think that bulky shoes throw off the balance with capri pants). If weather doesn't permit my slip ons, I usually wear my low top converse.
