Hey girlies! I'm making out my Christmas wish list for hubby...and need some help!

I recall once coming across a "cheap" little filter type thingy (that's the highly technical name for it, of course) that you can put on the end of a regular lens to get a macro lens effect.

Does anyone know what this is called? I recall it being around $20-$30...

I have a Canon camera and have the standard lens as well as a 50mm 1.8, if that matters.

thanks!!

I have a Bower Macro (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LRCR8K/fremystra-20/ref=nosim) +10 lens, mine is the 58mm and fits my 18-55mm kit lens and my 28-105mm lens. I've honestly never been able to figure it out, it didn't come with instructions and nothing I found online helped at all. Though I haven't messed with it since shortly after I got it and it's been quite awhile. I only paid $15 or so for it I think, it's one of those things that just takes up space in my bag :D

Here's a few other similar items @ Amazon -
