Hey guys! I need some help with my brother. He is going to be 18 in a few weeks and I am at a loss as to what to get for him. I don't want it to be a GC or just money for him to go buy video games. :D I would like something more special....I just don't know what. He's a quiet reserved type of quiet so it's hard to know. I would love any help or ideas!!

I've got the same issue with my 18 year old cousin as to what to buy for christmas - I'm thinking a GC to the local shopping mall chain might be in order since it is about a week to christmas

My daughter just turned 18 and while she is a girl she isnt a girly girl. I know for her clothes, music (cds or purchased online like on I-tunes), movies(DVD/blueay), movie tickets, concert tickets are all good ideas. Maybe you could buy him a ticket to see his favorite musician/band. I think that was my daughter's all time favorite birthday present. She went to see Hinder last year with her boyfriend on her birthday. You could get him some movie ticket vouchers/gift cards as well as teens love to go to the movie theater.

Also if he has a cell phone you could offer to upgrade his cell phone. My daughter is dying to upgrade hers but she has to pay like 50 dollars to do so right now since she is not eligible for free upgrade yet.

I like the idea of a concert ticket! my DD will be 17 soon and the funny thing with her she ants someone to treat her to a hair salon for XMAS :) my MIL did it last year and since DD really enjoyed, she put it on her XMAS wishlist again this year :) but all I know is when I was 18, all I wanted was money :p

Along the same lines as the concert ticket, my BIL is around that age and we found a combined iTunes-Ticketmaster gift card at Target that we gave to him. It was like $50 for Ticketmaster and $50 for iTunes, I think. His birthday is Dec 23rd so we gave it as a combined Christmas/Birthday present.

My oldest son is turning 18 in a few weeks and for his birthday I'm signing him up for snowboard lessons and giving him lift tickets. He is THRILLED! :)

Yeah, some sort of experience like the girls have mentioned would be fun at that age.
