I need your help to pick a photobook printing service.
For my 2009 Year in Review Book, I scrapped all my pages in a 12x12 format. I can resize to any square needed. For my 2008 YIR book, I scrapped my pages as 12x12 and then printed an 8x8 book at Shutterfly.com. I LOVE LOVE LOVE shutterfly's books and have several of both the 8x8 and 12x12s. Trouble is I'd really like the 10x10 size with a custom cover and spine. I tried using My Pic Tales Taleweaver software last night to fix my book up, but I got really frustrated with it. I read the instructions and resized to the appropriate size and bleed. Even though I did that, my cover still looked funky and layouts were still a little off. Anyone have any other recommendations for me?? I really appreciate the help :)

Megan is a fan of Viovio, and the book I had printed with them turned out great, just a few edges trimmed. I just printed a couple of books through MPT, and they turned out fab! I ended up buying Wendyzine's cover guide for like two bucks and made my cover using it, and the cover turned out exactly how it looked when I previewed it. I actually liked their software because I could see which pages needed to be redone easily. Since you can get 25% off an order over 100 dollars, it was the best priced deal for me.
I have also used Artscow, but my kids ripped the pages out quite easily. :(

I haven't printed my digiscraps on photobooks yet, but I'm planning to. Planning to print in 8x8.
Last year the Photobook Worldwide team came to my college to promote to us to print our portfolios as photobooks & showed some examples of printed photobooks from their customers. Their quality is really good. They even have free software for Win & Mac and we can checkout our order straight from their software.
Photobook Worldwide is an international company but I'm not sure if they have a branch in the US. Try check out their site (http://www.photobookworldwide.com/web/?pg=index).

10x10 is my ideal size. Admittedly, I haven't checked out many options recently. I had our guestbook for the wedding printed 10x10 through WHCC, but they are far too expensive to use as my regular photobook company.
I really need to look into this though. I don't have a single fully digital layout printed out, and I feel like I'm missing out. I've got 3 years of LO's just sitting on my EHD! One of these days I'll sit down and figure something out, I'm just swamped right now and it's not going to get any better in the next 3 months. ::sigh::
Anyway, sorry I don't have more to add that can help you. Just wanted to commiserate on the 10x10 size.

I'm a huge fan of viovio--because of their price and quality... however, right now, the 10x10 doesn't have a custom cover, so that wouldn't help you much. I wish I had more advice, but I don't have experience with other companies. (besides shutterfly of course)

I have never printed either, all my pages sit on my hard drive....ugh.
I actaully really want to get at least one book printed this year, but one thing I wonder is if i make the page 12x12 do i need to add a bit of width when i upload so the page is sized properly in the book (does that make sense) or does the company allot for the binding when I upload?

It depends on the company. Shutterfly has templates available so you can drag your LO onto the template and make sure things are within the bleed and cut lines. I've never used anyone else (I used the templates that WHCC provided when I made my book through them) though, so I can't speak on their processes.
