no it's nothing important..

but well.. It's a huge thing to me :p because I am a dork..

but I have officially..

sworn off..

jrs sized jeans.. :p o_O ..

omg.. people. why did you NOT tell me what I was missing out on. My mom gave me a stack of jeans of hers today (don't worry, she dresses like a normal person :p ) They are all from old navy (another big first for me- I also said I'd never shop there)..
and dudes..
these are the most comfortable jeans I have ever put on.

wth..
some of them are even a little.. loose.
and they translate to the same size in jrs that I "finally" fit into a month or so ago that hit my hip funky..
yeh..
cause wake up la.. those jeans are made for teenagers..

not the chick approaching 30 with a child.. No.
woah.
the cut is so much better for my body now... and the # being smaller than the # on my jrs helps the head too. Woot! lol

Love my old navy jeans. Jr's jeans sit so low and well...make my booty crack hang out :p

You're growing up!

lol
I officially switched from jr's to Deliah's petite jeans and let me tell you those are wow. (and they aren't jr's to me if any of you say it)

I quit wearing jr's because they are not cut to fit women well. At least not someone with curves LOL. My daughter wears a size 4 in womens sometimes a 2 and most of the time I have to get her a size 7/8 in jr's because she is like me and has bigger hips

LOL, this thread cracks me up!

yes, I LOVE my ON jeans and yes, I buy them online, lol.

lol.. I have to figure out the ON cuts. cause she has like all different ones- but some were baggier in places than others (I admittedly.. have zero tush .. so its a problem with the ones made for curvy chicks). I know one pair said something inside.. like sweetheart.. but i dunno what the difference is in the others.

lauren grier
01-31-2010, 11:50 PM
actually i just put them back on.. it's the sweet heart ones that have too much room in the tush... so you all will have to tell me what the difference in the rset of the styles is.. cause I think the other ones are just "normal jeans"

Funny you should be talking about this, La! i've been shopping in the juniors section since, well since i was a junior, lol. i'm so afraid to leave that section, but also realizing that i'm 31 years old now and maybe its time. i don't dress like a teenager; i'm pretty casual but i'm feeling like i'm at a turning point now. i've been watching What Not to Wear a lot lately. thinkin of nominating mysef :D i have never tried on non junior jeans. maybe i should!

I'm not planning on buying any new pants anyway.. I only have like 10-15ish more lbs to lose (well that i want to lose.. I dont want shawna coming in here and yelling at me :p ).. but its been stuck here forever.. so I may never see the next size down :p Which is ... whatever. lol

I'm a little flat in the tush too, and I go with the ON Flirty -- they're cut a little straighter.

lol lol.. seriously..I've been afraid of the womens section my entire life.. lol.. but there comes a point, where you have to accept that you ARE a woman and not 13 anymore hahaha. I think every normal person on the planet could go on WNTW .. I mean, I'm sorry.. I'm not going to dress all fancy like every day. I wear jeans, and t's, and hoodies. this is me. It's not goign to change, and i really don't care. :p

ty! they're not like.. super tight on the hip are they? I was looking at the different styles but you can't really tell with the photos lol. I mean they use a different chick in each type :p of course they'll look different.
looking again though.. it sounds like the flirt is the normal kind -- one of the pairs she gave me say just :just below waist boot cut:.. So you may be right that thats what I need :D

Oh, La, you are adorable. Do you know that there are some of us who have never owned a stitch of juniors clothing even when we were junior aged?! :p

The four basic types of jeans at ON are the Diva (low rise), Flirt (mid rise), Sweetheart (classic rise), and Goddess (high rise). In general, as the rise goes up, so does the stretchiness and roominess of the jean, so I'm not surprised you found the Sweetheart too voluminous for your junk (or lack thereof); that's the type I wear so that all my junk can be contained in my trunk.

Wait until you get up the strength to look at the ON website. There are 15+ variations once you pick a type as well as Weekend Jeans, Capri Jeans, Skinny Jeans, etc etc. Maybe you should pick a whole day while Ce is at school to peruse the site. :)

I would laugh at you if it just wasn't so sad that you have been uncomfortable in your jeans for so long.

I would pay double the price for my Sweetheart jeans; they are comfortable AND my husband is constantly commenting on how good I look in them. They are worth going into old navy for.

Welcome to the world of being a grownup and not wearing granny panties.

lol kellie.. seriously.. I just assumed that that was how jeans fit.. now I know, that I am allowed to have hip bones, and it doesn't actually make me a fatty ^_^

& leeandra.. yuh.. the ON site is overwhelming. I was just trying to navigate the jeans section..yeh. no. Even like.. in the different style cats.. the pants look different. I'm so not that shopper. I go in..pick a colour, check to make sure they're not ankle bitters.. .. try them on, and I'm done haha.
so lack of tush.. = lower waist. I seriously never would have figured this out.. lol.. I need clothing shopping lessons i swear..

I can't help but giggle at this thread!! I'm proud of you La for wearing big girl jeans now. Not big girl as in "BIG" girl, but you know, lolol!!! I need new jeans and I'm scared to buy just because there are so many styles and cuts and stuff. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.

Yeah for finding the perfect jeans, La! See, this must be why I can't find jeans! I have absolutely no tush, but...um...me in a low rise? Trust me, the world would rather I didn't. None of the ON jeans work for me. I finally found the perfect pair of Levis and went back to buy more the next day. I washed and wore the 2 newer pairs, and within a few hours the midrise was a low rise because I couldn't keep them up. Turns out the first pair were the last one in the old style that any of the stores nearby had, and finding jeans online by SKU (since the style # didn't change) is pretty much impossible. Sigh.

But here is the more important question about jeans. Given that they fit totally differently after wearing and stretching them for a couple of hours, how in the world does anyone ever find jeans that fit? How do you think the sales people would react if I sat in the dressing room with 1 pair of jeans for 2 hours? I love me some denim (and wear nothing else), but I don't think jeans like me.

ON Sweethearts are pretty much my favorite every day jeans. I bought the Dreamers when they were on sale for $12.50 a pair earlier this year and was sorry I did. They are tighter around the waist/tummy and shorter than the Sweetheart even though they said long. I'm one of those that wants my pants to come to just the bottom of my boot heel. Drives me nuts when you can see the heel of a boot. Anywho... I wear the Dreamers with tennis shoes and they're ok. Still not as comfy as the Sweetheart.

Another brand I LOVE are Seven7's (sp?) and I just bought my first pair of Express jeans and they are really comfy too.

That's awesome you found some jeans you like!! I usually end up crying when I shop for jeans... seriously. I hate shopping for them, cause my legs are too long! lol. I had a pair of ON a while back, but they were just short enough to be uncomfortable. I found a couple years ago (someone else already mentioned) Delia's. I love them because I can order my 36 or 37" length depending on style.

I'm really glad you found some though!! lol, as many different styles and cuts they make, it's still so hard to find ones that fit just right.

I really love Apt. 9 jeans from Kohl's (I think it's a store brand). They fit me so well. I also just bought my first pair of Victoria's Secret Jeans. LOVE LOVE LOVE the fit, but the finish on them is so dirty (on purpose), I think it's too much for me -- white paint spots, darker spots, and the part on the front that's supposed to look worn and lighter is like warn and yellowy or something. If I wore them I would look like I've been helping hubby remodel in them. But I'm hoping to exchange them for a different finish, 'cause they fit SO WELL and in a VERY NICE size!!

I love my sweetheart jeans. They're the first pair of jeans I've owned that don't get that dag-blasted gap in the back when I sit down. The flirt jeans were almost too low for me. But I have uber short legs and torso...I'm a weird shaped person lol

I like Kohl's life+style jeans. They are the best fitting pair I've found.

But to find the best fitting jeans you have to try them on. Ordering blindly off websites just costs you unneeded shipping fees & frustration. Pick a day, set aside an hour, charge into ON and pull a variety of sizes & styles off the jeans wall & try them on. It's the only way you can know for sure things fit the way you like. After than you can order them online.

I hate trying on pants but I spent a total of two hours in 4 stores doing nothing else. Now, unless I lose 15lbs, I can order pants online from those stores & know they will fit right

I used to LOVE ON's Sweetheart Jeans! They were my favorite. But, that was 25+ pounds ago. They don't fit me anymore! Yes, I bought a smaller size! :p They just IDK, don't fit. lol
I've gone through several pairs trying to find the perfect fit for me. & I now LOVE my Levi 505s! They're amazing! I sure hope they still fit right after I lose the rest of this weight!
But, CONGRATS on finding comfy jeans that fit! It's a hard task! lol & I'm so proud of you! My La is growing up! *sniff* lol

I guess I don't know the difference either! Now I'm curious... I thought I shopped in the jr section because women's sizes are too big... and I haven't had ON jeans for probably a decade. but hmmm now I'm confused. and now I want to go to ON and shop for jeans all the sudden. really, they're different?

What sizes do jrs come in and what sizes do women's come in? i'm so confused!

sarah I think it's actually called "misses" in most stores-- but it's womens in my brain (and old navy its just a women section) True "womens" is plus sizes I think.

anyway.. I just compared the size chart in jrs from the store i bought my old jeans to the size chart of old navy. You should be able to go "down" 1-2 sizes from your jrs size. They tend to be in btwn.

eta: jrs are odd # sizes and womens are even # sizes.. but like i said.. the jrs # will be BIGGER than the womens... so if you're wearing like a 00 in jrs ^_^ you're out of luck with womens.
