I felt so overwhelmed and lost there! I didn't stay! I'm sure it's good if you are willing to spend time learning about all that stuff--I'm just not there right now, too many other things on my plate!

I felt the exact same way, Sarah!! I tried, but just felt really overwhelmed!! Maybe someday soon.... :)

I had the same problem Sarah. Too much there and too little time to take it in. I did not make good use of it.

Add me to the joined, lurked a little and never went back club. I loved what I saw but I just didn't know where to start. I need to try again because I think it has tons of great info!

I'm with you, Sarah. I'd love to join, but I have way too much going on right now. I should probably read the photog books I have first!! :)

I do agree that there is alot of information. They have recently changed a few things around and created a "beginners" section with just the basics. A great way to learn to switch to manual!

I joined a few weeks ago, and have now jumped HEAD FIRST into learning to be a better photog!

I even...wait for it...wait for it...read my camera manual!

It is very intimidating at first...then when you finally read most of the content you start feeling really dumb. Then, slowly, the next phase is believing you really can get better. that's where I am now! LOL! (and I'm hoping the final phase is that "I'm a complete photographer STUD" feeling!)

I've posted some photos, asked for feedback and learned SO MUCH. Including how to edit photos better (fix color, lighting, etc).

I would love to do something like that, but can't imagine having the time right now. Maybe if I spent less time doing crap like this. ;)

Would it be worthwhile if I don't have a dSLR and don't plan to get one? I do have a camera with manual controls, but it doesn't have the interchangeables lenses.

I've been a member for a year now (I know cause I just got the paypal email that my subscription was renewed lol) and have learned so much. I haven't posted much lately but I really want to jump back in over there soon!

Kim there are plenty of girls there that don't have dslr cameras, so I think you could totally benefit. There are lots of tutorials (everything from taking your camera out of auto to lighting, post processing, using actions, making watermarks, etc) and also a pay it forward area where lots of the girls share actions, lightroom presets, templates, etc. Also you can join for just a month to try it out :)

I definetly think you would benefit. Worst case scenario, you sign up for a month and then cancel because you find it isn't for you.

Is it a wide range of info, like beginner to semi-pro or....I don't know. Just hesitant to pay the money and join. Any help with the business side of photography there? I'm curious about this place now.

Amy I would say it's a wide range, definitely everything from beginners to semi-pro to pro. There is a lot of stuff with the business side of things for those starting out in the biz. Also lots of help for those portfolio building too.

I've thought a couple of times about joining. Glad to hear that it is this helpful. Not just a place to look at everyone else's great photos! Will have to drop the dough come next paycheck :)

Y'all are gonna make me join now . My only hesitation was that most paid sites, you can find the stuff online for free anyway.

FYI-The Savvy Photographer blog is giving away some sort of template for people that join from her site. I don't remember what it was though, big help I am LOL

Another perk is that people are always giving away free stuff such as actions, textures or card templates.
