Loading software, did this really work?

OK gals, after an incredibly long and frustrating afternoon where nothing seemed to go my way, I came home to find that my CD-Rom in my new laptop doesn't work. I just bought PSE8 today!

DH opened the installation files on his computer, saved them to our jump drive and then I plugged it into my laptop and selected "autoplay". The installation wizard successfully completed and everything!

Because I've never loaded software this way, I wanted to poll everyone here in case someone can think of a problem I may run into down the line. My computer savvy brother feels that as long as the program is running fine, I should be in the clear.

I've opened a layout and played with layers...no probs so far. So what do you think? I'm so ready to start creating!

You shouldn't have any problems. I have installed alot of programs like this.

I was seriously feeling like such a goof after I posted this thread because I should *know* that if the program is running well, I'm most likely in the clear -- I think was so flustered from my difficult afternoon (one of those days where nothing seemed to go my way) that I had a temporary lapse of knowledge. LOL! :w00t:

And yes, I'm very pleased with DH. He came home early to help turn my night around. YAY!

awwww never feel like a goof...I am learning new things around here all the time and if it wasn't for someone bringing up a subject I would have missed out on that tidbit of new knowledge. Looking forward to seeing your LO's that ya create.

You're so sweet! You're right -- if a question is never asked, how would others learn, too? ;)

I plan on starting a layout tomorrow. I'm excited! Wish me luck... :D
