Did you watch Joannie skate last night? Geez, I'm so proud of her! I loved her program. She seemed a bit on auto-pilot, but holy heck, to get out and skate at all, never mind skate like that was totally amazing. I had a few tears after she was done, I was just so proud!

I'm no Canadian, but I felt very similarly. Totally cried like a baby.

Um yeah, not canadian either, but it was amazing. My heart hurt so bad for her. And did you see her dad? He looked so miserable!

What a strong young lady, she skated beautifully. Watching her and her dad, man my heart goes out to them.

Yes he did...my heart was hurting for both of them. And then after her skate Scott Hamilton was breaking down while discussing her performance...I probably would have too.

Our Canadian commentators (Liz Manley and Jennifer Robinson)didn't say a word, later they said that they were crying and couldn't speak.

Joannie isn't usually emotional at all, so this was such a departure for her. Her heart must ache so much. :(

I was sobbing.. i am so happy she did well. I was saying to meg last night that I think it will help with her grieving if she does well. I honestly can't even imagine though what she must be going through. I am SO glad that so many people are behind her.

I read an article..like she has declined to speak to the media but I guess a skating rep has talked to her and he spoke on her behalf saying she's just kinda in the motions of her skating and when she finished her short program that it kinda hit her...I'll have to find it b/c there was more..about wanting to come back in 10 years and skate the program again or something like that

Count me as one of the bawlers after watching her skate. Hubby walked in the room and couldn't understand why I was crying. But, I explained it to him, and then he understood. What amazing strength it must have taken to skate at all, let alone as beautifully as she did! The response from the crowd was amazing! The commentators here all week have been talking about how much love she would receive from the crowd but they weren't sure if that would help or hurt her performance. It was so nice to see her do well.

Not Canadien here either, but I was a blubbering fool before her music ever came on. She skated beautifully.
