PLEASE take a look at this and be honest. I am SO confused. I think I am imagining things now.

Additional Info:
AF is 6 weeks late, LMP was Jan 15th. 5 tests around Valentine's Day were all negative ... even the 3 digital hpt's.
ETA I am an idiot and said this wrong LOL. My last AF was 6 weeks ago. So it would be 2 weeks late
A week ago I had very light spotting that lasted Thurs night-Sunday. It was pink and only really there when I wiped (TMI ... sorry)
This test was in a 2 pack. The first test yesterday I must have over saturated because I got NO lines
It was taken at about 2pm, so not first thing in the morning.

I see a faint line!!!
Try taking a digital test. ;)

I think the digital's take more HCG, so if this one is faint a digital might not register either.

well if its 6 weeks late it should show as positive. Most digitals can pick up by 5 days before missed period. Unless you are counting by the spotting, then I'm not sure how late or early it is.
But I still see a faint line. :)

6 weeks?? do you mean your period was DUE on the 25th or that was your last one? (LMP = last menstrual period)..
I would just go to the dr and request a blood test if you are 6 weeks late. If you're 6 DAYS late, then I'd get a digi at this point it should show up.

6 weeks late... my last period was Jan 15th. I can't get in to see my midwife right now. Last time I called she was booked till May, unless I have a positive test LOL.
MommaTrish

a digi should most definitly be showing by now. I would try asking your regular everyday dr to do a bloodtest if she can't see you.

I have a history of not ovulating and ovulating late ... but I have never spotted like this before. IF the spotting was implantation bleeding then when would a test be positive?
MommaTrish
02-25-2010, 07:28 PM
hmmm... I could be wrong but generally you'd have ovualted before the period and I'd think (((BUT could be wrong))) you would have gotten the implantation bleeding a while ago.

I took 5 pregnancy tests with my 3rd child, and they all looked like that. Very faint. I ended up calling a dr. and asking for a blood test so I would know for sure. Surely you can find someone who can at least do that for you. It's so hard to not know.

you'd be 2 weeks late (if you have normal 28 day cycles).. .6 weeks would = how far along you'd be. Try calling around pregnancy clinics if your midwife won't let you in. I know even PP'd will do pregnancy tests.

and i'd even just tell your midwife that you got a faint positive and see if that's enough for her to see you.. it doesn't matter if you're not 100% sure.. lol that's her job

hopefully congratulations! :) i'd call your doctor's office and request a "lab only" visit. they will run the test and then you'll get an appointment hopefully! hugs and best wishes!

I was going to say the same thing..if your last period was on January 15th, then you should've had another one around February 13th, which would make you only about 2 weeks late. I would think you should get a positive soon if you're 2 weeks late!

try doing another test first thing in the morning when the hcg in your system will be higher. I know whenever i did tests in the afternoon, i would get a very faint positive, and only after like 5 minutes, when results should show within two minutes. But first thing in the morning, that line would show up bright and clear after about 30seconds, and that was only a day or two after my period was due.
That being said, my doctor always told me that home pregnancy tests are very reliable, and that any line, faint or not is a positive result. Good luck!

I have been "letting what happens, happen" ... so yes, I would love for it to be a positive.

The first test I took with my daughter was so faintly positive that you had to hold it under a lamp at just the right angle to see it. I retested 2 days later and it was blaring pink before I'd even pulled my pants up. :D

I cant tell one way or another. the pic is to blurry for me to tell. I would retake when you have had at least six hours in between urinating so the HCG will be a little stronger in your urine or of course first thing in the morning. You would not be very far along if you were pregnant and it is possible to get false negatives that early on. Good luck though in figuring out yes or no and congrats if it is a yes :)

definetely do it first thing in the morning...that is when your hcg will be the strongest :) {this comes from me as a lab techician}

OMG, how exciting...i see the faint line too!! Can't wait for an update in the morning! My second babys preg test was very faint, but a positive is a positive no matter how faint!!! LOL, and my implantation bleeding happened at 7 weeks( 1st child) & 8 weeks(2nd child), i think it depends on the person! Good luck to you!
crossing my fingers for you :) each time i was pregnant i took about 10 different tests just to 'make sure' LOL ..

I wouldn't lose hope yet. I have a friend who has never gotten a positive on a home pregnancy test and has to go in to have a blood test done each time.

well the digital this morning was not pregnant :(
I took a digital at 5+ wks along (a week+ late) and it was negative, didn't take another one until I was 8 weeks along and yep it was positive. So I don't put too much confidence in the digital ones personally. But it may be negative too. So hugs for the emotional roller coaster you are on!

it is just a horrible emotional rollercoaster. To continue being late but have every test come up negative (except for that one posted above) ... it just makes me feel crazy LOL.

Thanks for keeping us updated Amber! I was thinking about you the other day. Give it one more week and retest. Pray and don't stress. You have an appointment but that is still a while off to be not knowing! Hugs!!!
